Noble ROM 4.3 (Calabria III) is an unofficial Android 14/One UI 6.1.1 port for selected Exynos Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note 9 models. It is not a Samsung update and will not appear under Settings → Software update. Installing it requires an unlocked bootloader, Odin, a model-matched TWRP recovery, repartitioning, formatting data and flashing the ROM ZIP. Expect a full data wipe, a permanent Knox trip and possible loss of Samsung- or carrier-dependent features.
Use this guide only after confirming your exact model and comparing every file and step with the current Noble ROM release thread at the project’s official support group.
What Noble ROM 4.3 actually is
Noble ROM 4.3 is a community-developed port that brings a One UI 6.1.1-style system to older Exynos phones. Its release description identifies Android 14, Samsung Galaxy S22 system components and reportedly Galaxy Note10 Lite vendor components. That does not make the S9 or Note 9 an officially supported One UI 6.1.1 device.

Check compatibility before downloading anything

On the phone, open Settings → About phone → Model number. Confirm both the model and codename. Do not flash these files to Snapdragon or carrier variants merely because they share the same retail name; many US models use different hardware and bootloader behavior.
Check the device-specific recovery pages for starlte, star2lte and crownlte. Noble ROM may require a patched or older build, so the maintainer’s recommended recovery takes precedence over simply choosing the newest official TWRP.
Risks you must accept
- Data loss: repartitioning, Format Data and a clean install can erase internal storage.
- Boot failure: a wrong file, interrupted flash or incompatible firmware can cause a bootloop or unbootable phone.
- Knox: unlocking and modifying the device can permanently trip Samsung Knox, disabling or impairing Knox-dependent features, some banking apps and DRM services.
- Support and warranty: Samsung may decline normal software support for a modified device.
- Network differences: VoLTE, Wi‑Fi calling, IMS, 5G and regional CSC behavior may differ from stock firmware.
- Feature limits: camera, biometrics, Secure Folder, S Pen, Galaxy AI and Samsung-account functions are not guaranteed on every model or region.
- Security: the patch level is tied to the ROM build and may be older than the current date.
Prepare the phone, computer and backups
- Use a supported Exynos model with an unlockable bootloader.
- Charge the phone well and use a reliable USB data cable and Windows PC.
- Install Samsung USB drivers and Odin.
- Obtain the exact Noble ROM 4.3 ZIP, compatible TWRP or patched TWRP
.tar, the device-specific Universal9810 repartitioner and cleaner. Use the current release thread at https://t.me/noblerom, not random mirrors. - Keep the ROM ZIP and backups on a microSD card or USB OTG drive. Internal storage may be erased by Format Data.
Back up photos, messages, contacts, authenticator recovery codes, eSIM/SIM information and app data. After TWRP works, make a NANDroid backup of Boot, System/System Image, Vendor, Data, Baseband and EFS where available. EFS contains device-specific radio and identity information, so keep that backup off the phone.

Enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging
- Open Settings → About phone → Software information.
- Tap Build number repeatedly until Developer options are enabled.
- Return to Settings and open Developer options.
- Enable OEM unlocking and, if needed for ADB, USB debugging.
Menu wording varies by firmware and region. If OEM unlocking is missing, stop; carrier or region restrictions may mean the bootloader cannot be unlocked.
Install Noble ROM 4.3
1. Flash the correct TWRP with Odin
- Power off and enter Download mode using the button procedure for your exact model.
- Connect the phone to Windows and open Odin.
- Load the model-matched TWRP
.tarin Odin’s AP slot. - Start the flash, then boot directly into recovery rather than Android. Team Win warns that stock firmware can replace custom recovery during the first boot.
The Noble ROM guide cites Volume Up + Bixby + Power for recovery, but confirm the combination for your model and bootloader state. TWRP also warns about dm-verity; retaining an incompatible stock kernel can prevent booting.
2. Create a TWRP backup
- In TWRP, tap Backup.
- Select the available Boot, System/System Image, Vendor, Data, Baseband and EFS partitions.
- Save the archive to microSD, USB OTG or a computer and verify it completed.
3. Repartition
- Tap Install in TWRP.
- Flash the Universal9810 repartitioner intended for your exact device family.
- Reboot back into TWRP.
This is destructive. Never substitute a repartitioner from another model or ROM project.

4. Format encrypted user data
- Open Wipe → Format Data.
- Type
yesto confirm. - Reboot to TWRP again.
Format Data is not a cache wipe: it removes user-data contents and explains why the ROM ZIP must already be on external storage.

5. Run the project cleaner
- Tap Install.
- Flash the matching Universal9810 cleaner ZIP.
- Reboot to TWRP again.
6. Flash Noble ROM and complete AROMA
- Tap Install and select the Noble ROM ZIP.
- Allow the AROMA installer to open.
- Choose the exact device model, CSC and hardware options.
- For a first installation, choose Clean Install and, as the cited guide recommends, No Debloat.
- Choose optional root, applications, animations and feature settings only when you understand their effect.
- Let the installation finish without interrupting it.
AROMA choices control installed apps, debloating, CSC selection, root configuration and hardware-specific options. Photograph your selections if you may need to repeat the installation.
7. First boot
- Reboot to system.
- The installation guide estimates approximately 15–20 minutes for the first boot; this is an estimate, not a guarantee.
- Complete setup, then test mobile service, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, camera, fingerprint sensor, speakers, charging, accounts and—on Note 9—S Pen functions.
- Restore applications gradually so a faulty app does not obscure ROM problems.
Troubleshooting
“NO OS INSTALLED” appears
Do not reboot to Android. Return to TWRP and flash the Noble ROM ZIP again, then reboot. This is the source-specific remedy for the documented older-recovery condition, not a universal solution. Verify the recovery version in the current Noble ROM thread; do not rely on an unverified “TWRP 5.5.x.x” reference.
TWRP was replaced by stock recovery
Reflash the correct recovery and boot directly into it immediately afterward. Common causes are allowing Android to boot after Odin, using the wrong recovery or missing the recovery key combination.

Encryption may still be present. The normal procedure is Wipe → Format Data, confirm yes, reboot TWRP and continue. This destroys internal user data.

- Recheck model, codename and ROM build.
- Confirm the repartitioner and cleaner match the device.
- Confirm Format Data completed.
- Allow for the extended first boot.
- If the “NO OS INSTALLED” condition occurred, reflash the ZIP without rebooting first.
- If still unusable, restore exact stock firmware with Odin.
Odin fails
- Reinstall Samsung USB drivers.
- Try a known-good data cable and USB port.
- Confirm Download mode and the exact
.tarfile. - Do not load a ZIP or an image in the AP slot.
- Check that the phone is not an incompatible Snapdragon or carrier model.
Camera, radio, biometric or Samsung services fail
These may be port-compatibility limitations rather than installation errors. Test basic hardware before restoring apps. If banking, Secure Folder, carrier VoLTE, Wi‑Fi calling, camera reliability or S Pen support is essential, stock firmware may be the safer choice.

If Noble ROM is unusable, back up anything still accessible, download the correct stock firmware for the exact model and region from a verified Samsung firmware source, and flash the corresponding files with Odin. A stock restore may remove the custom system but cannot undo a Knox trip. Do not flash firmware for a neighboring model or region simply because it has the same retail name.
Should you install it?
Install Noble ROM only if you accept an unofficial port, a full wipe, permanent Knox consequences and hands-on troubleshooting. It can provide a newer One UI experience and selected AI and Samsung features on supported Exynos hardware, but it is not an official upgrade and cannot guarantee stock-level security, network compatibility or Samsung-service support.

Is Noble ROM 4.3 an official Samsung One UI 6.1.1 update?
No. It is a community-developed port installed through an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and TWRP—not through Samsung’s Software update screen.

Will it work on US Snapdragon Galaxy S9, S9+ or Note 9 models?
Do not assume so. The named targets are Exynos F, FD and N families with codenames starlte, star2lte and crownlte. Confirm the exact model before downloading.
Does installation erase the phone?
Yes. Repartitioning, Format Data and a clean install can erase internal storage. Keep the ROM ZIP and backups on microSD or USB OTG.
Will Samsung Pay, Knox Workspace or banking apps work?
They may not. Unlocking and modifying the device permanently trips Knox and can break Knox-, DRM- or integrity-dependent applications.
Does every Galaxy AI feature work?
No guarantee exists. Reported AI functions depend on hardware, RAM, camera libraries, region, CSC and Samsung-account services.
Can I keep the stock recovery?
No, the installation path requires a compatible TWRP recovery. Boot directly into TWRP after Odin because Android may replace it with stock recovery.
What if OEM unlocking is missing?
Stop and investigate the model’s carrier and regional bootloader restrictions. Do not attempt random files or bypass procedures.
