On a compatible Samsung PC, install Samsung Notes from the Microsoft Store, then sign in and enable Samsung Cloud sync on both the PC and your Galaxy phone or tablet. Samsung says the app is optimized for Galaxy Book models and may not be compatible with other Windows PCs, so installation is not guaranteed on every laptop.
Install and open Samsung Notes on a PC
- On the PC, select Start > All apps > Microsoft Store.
- Search for Samsung Notes, select the app, then choose Get.
- When installation finishes, select Open. Samsung’s setup allows you to skip Samsung account sign-in initially; sign in if you want to sync notes. See Samsung’s setup instructions.
Sync notes from a Galaxy phone or tablet
Samsung’s documented route for sharing notes between its PC app and Galaxy devices is Samsung Cloud sync. Use the same Samsung account on both devices.
- In Samsung Notes on the PC, open Settings, choose Sync with Samsung Cloud, and sign in. Make sure the switch above Sync now is on.
- On the Galaxy phone or tablet, open Samsung Notes and select Menu > Settings.
- Enable Sync with Samsung Cloud.

Will Samsung Notes work on a Windows laptop?
Samsung says Samsung Notes for PC is optimized for Galaxy Book models and may not be compatible with other Windows computers. Its support information does not provide a universal Windows-version requirement or a compatibility list for third-party PCs. If the Microsoft Store does not let you install the app, Samsung does not document a guaranteed workaround for that computer.

OneNote sync depends on your Galaxy device’s software
Do not assume Samsung Notes can sync to OneNote on every Galaxy device. Samsung Support’s current US troubleshooting guidance says, “Sync with OneNote is not available on devices with One UI 9 software,” and directs users to Samsung Cloud instead. Check your device’s One UI version and whether the OneNote setting is available; see Samsung’s OneNote-sync troubleshooting article.
A separate Samsung support article describes selecting Samsung Notes folders for a Microsoft OneNote feed, viewed in Outlook after signing in to a Microsoft account. That feed is read-only in an important respect: the article says notes cannot be edited or removed from it. Because the instructions differ from Samsung’s One UI 9 notice, treat the feed as an option only when the setting appears on your device and your software version supports it.

Export a note if the PC app or sync is unavailable
Samsung Notes can export notes as PDF, Word, PowerPoint, image, or text files. Export gives you a portable copy of note content; it does not open your synchronized Samsung Notes library in the PC app. Samsung says a PDF can be annotated in Samsung Notes, but its existing text cannot be edited there. Follow Samsung’s note-export instructions to choose an export format.
