To install Hao’s Special Works (HSW) upgrades, take a compatible personal vehicle to Hao’s Special Works at the LS Car Meet, then select and purchase the HSW options available for that vehicle. HSW is not available for every car. On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Rockstar says completing Hao’s Intro Race is no longer required to access the service. GTAV Enhanced PC also has documented HSW vehicle content, but support depends on the game edition and vehicle.
Where to find Hao’s Special Works
Hao’s Special Works is a vehicle-upgrade service inside the LS Car Meet in GTA Online. Bring an HSW-capable personal vehicle to the LS Car Meet and use Hao’s Special Works to view the upgrades available for that car. Rockstar’s update notes establish the service location, but do not specify every current button prompt or menu label.
How to install HSW upgrades
- Check your platform and game edition. Rockstar identifies HSW upgrades on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and later update notes also identify HSW-capable vehicle content for GTAV Enhanced PC. Do not assume HSW is available in every PC edition or on older console versions.
- Bring an eligible personal vehicle. HSW options are vehicle-specific; an ordinary car may not show them. Rockstar’s updates name examples including the Benefactor Stirling GT, Överflöd Entity MT, Bravado Banshee GTS and Vapid Firebolt ASP. These are examples, not a complete compatibility list.
- Take the vehicle to Hao’s Special Works at the LS Car Meet. Open the vehicle-modification service with the eligible vehicle.
- Choose and purchase the HSW upgrades shown. The available options depend on the individual vehicle. Check the in-game menu for current eligibility and prices; Rockstar’s cited notes do not provide a complete current price list or upgrade catalog.
Do you need to complete Hao’s Intro Race?
On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, no. Rockstar’s Title Update 1.64 notes state: “Players no longer need to complete Hao’s Intro Race to access the HSW Upgrade Service and mods (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only).” The note was published December 13, 2022, and the support page was last updated April 28, 2024. Its platform qualification matters: the statement does not establish the same rule for every other edition.

- The vehicle may not support HSW. Compatibility is not universal, and the Rockstar examples are not a full list. Look for the options shown for that specific car in game.
- Your edition or platform may not support the feature. Rockstar’s cited notes identify PS5, Xbox Series X|S and GTAV Enhanced PC in relevant HSW contexts; they do not establish general availability across all PC editions or older consoles.
- You may be using a workshop with an unmet access condition. The Vinewood Club Garage route is documented for GTA+ members, while the mansion workshop route also requires the Vehicle Workshop upgrade.
Rockstar’s update notes provide examples across updates: the Benefactor Stirling GT in Title Update 1.61, the Överflöd Entity MT in Title Update 1.64, and the Bravado Banshee GTS and Vapid Firebolt ASP in Title Update 1.70. Availability varies by vehicle and platform. See Rockstar’s Title Update 1.61 notes, Title Update 1.64 notes and Title Update 1.70 notes for those examples.
