For most ASUS PCs, the right place to start is Armoury Crate: it includes Aura Sync controls for supported lighting devices. Add Aura Creator if you want to build custom lighting effects. Download the installer from the ASUS support page for your exact model, then check the device compatibility list before expecting every component to appear.
Choose the right ASUS lighting application

The names are related but not interchangeable: Aura Sync is a feature, Armoury Crate is the central utility, and Aura Creator is the editor.
Check Windows and device compatibility
ASUS lists Windows 10 version 1903 or later and Windows 11 for the Armoury Crate & Aura Creator installer. Confirm the requirements on the live Armoury Crate support page, where package and version details can change.

Support is model-specific. Before installation, open ASUS’s Aura Creator compatible-device list and confirm that the exact device you want to control is supported. The list is updated as software changes, so an ASUS product or third-party RGB component should not be assumed to work just because it has lighting.

Some new ROG or TUF systems may already have Armoury Crate installed. If it is present, check it before downloading another copy. ASUS also advises removing an existing Aura application before installing or updating Armoury Crate on supported motherboard setups. Check ASUS’s installation guidance for your model.
Install Armoury Crate, Aura Creator, or both
- Open the ASUS support page for your specific device or model. Find the Armoury Crate & Aura Creator installer there rather than relying on an installer intended for a different model. ASUS’s Armoury Crate page provides current package information.
- Download the ZIP package and extract it. The manual installation flow uses
ArmouryCrateInstallTool.zip. - Run
ArmouryCrateInstaller.exefrom the extracted files. - Select the software you need. Choose Armoury Crate, Aura Creator, or both in the installer. ASUS recommends Armoury Crate for Aura Sync and device-configuration features; Aura Creator can also be installed on its own. Follow the installer prompts to finish setup. - Open the installed application and look for your supported device. If you installed Aura Creator, use its available-device list and settings to check prerequisites and synchronize devices.
Fix a device that does not appear in Aura Creator
Work through these checks before reinstalling software. ASUS’s Aura Creator FAQ recommends confirming compatibility, connection, prerequisite updates, and synchronization.

- Confirm the exact model is supported. Check ASUS’s current compatible-device list. If the model is not listed, Aura Creator support is not established.
- Check the physical or system connection. Make sure the device is connected as intended, then reopen the available-devices list.
- Check Aura Creator settings for prerequisite updates. Install any updates it identifies before trying again.
- Synchronize the device. Select it from the available-devices list and use the synchronization option.
- Use ASUS’s model-specific troubleshooting and reinstall guidance if the problem persists. Keep the installer details current
ASUS’s download page displays package and version information dynamically. Use the details shown on the live support page for your device instead of relying on a version number or package size copied from an older guide. Open Armoury Crate support.
