In the Off Grid AI Desktop guide for prerelease v0.0.54-beta.108, recorded AI tasks are available under Settings → AI activity. Open a task to review its status, model, recorded backend, request details, and—when present—effective parameters, errors, and related attempts. The panel is diagnostic history, not a complete or permanent record of everything the model did.
Find the AI task you want to inspect
- Reproduce the issue with a small test request, if safe. Use a short, recognizable prompt and avoid sensitive work data. Keep the model, prompt, and processing preference steady while investigating so you can interpret the next record.
- Open Settings → AI activity. If the newest task is missing, refresh the view. Search using a phrase from the prompt, a response fragment, or the model name.
- Narrow the results if needed. The guide describes filtering by status, hardware, time, and request type when those filters are available in the installed build.
- Open the task and start with its summary. Check status, model, recorded backend, and duration. A running task may not have a final response yet; for a failed task, read the error first.
These labels and the menu path come from Off Grid AI’s guide for prerelease v0.0.54-beta.108. The public Off Grid AI repository describes the desktop app but does not independently document this activity panel, so availability and behavior should not be assumed for every release.
Read the request record and its details
After checking the summary, inspect the detail sections available for that operation. The guide names Request, Response, Effective request / parameters, Error, and related attempts. Not every task will contain every section.
- Request: Check whether the expected prompt or input appears in the recorded request before changing your wording.
- Response: Compare the returned content with the request. A record can show what response was recorded, but cannot establish that the answer is correct or that the model followed every instruction.
- Effective request / parameters: Where present, compare the values passed to the operation with the settings you intended to use.
- Error and related attempts: Use the error to choose a focused next check. Related attempts may help reveal a retry or fallback, if one was recorded.
The guide identifies local chat, image, speech, transcription, and embedding requests as relevant operation types. The repository also documents a local OpenAI-compatible gateway at http://127.0.0.1:7878/v1 and chat, vision, image, audio, and embedding endpoints; that product context does not confirm what the activity panel records for a particular task.

Compare two records without overreading them
When comparing outcomes, keep the prompt and model steady where possible. Then compare the fields the records actually contain:
- Status and error
- Model and recorded backend
- Effective parameters
- Duration
- Related attempts
These are diagnostic clues, not proof of a cause. A recorded GPU backend does not show that all computation used the GPU. Duration by itself does not establish that a model is slower; loading and retries can affect task time. An error may narrow the possibilities without explaining the full failure.

- EVOLUTION RYZEN AI MAX+ 395 MINI PC - GMKtec EVO-X2 is the next evolution in AI mini PC Ryzen Strix Halo series. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled, to 32 threads. Ryzen AI Max+ 395 has 64 MB of L3 cache and can boost up to 5.1 GHz, depending on the workload. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is currently rated as the "most powerful x86 APU" on the market for AI computing.
- AI NPU with XDNA 2 ARCHITECTURE - Powered by 16 “Zen 5” CPU cores, 50+ peak AI TOPS XDNA 2 NPU and a truly massive integrated GPU driven by 40 AMD RDNA 3.5 CUs, the Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 is a transformative upgrade and delivers a significant performance boost over the competition. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 excels in consumer AI workloads like the llama.cpp-powered application: LM Studio. Shaping up to be the must-have app for client LLM workloads, LM Studio allows users to locally run the latest language model without any technical knowledge required and unleash their creativity and productivity.
- AMD RADEON 8090S iGPU GAMING PC - The AMD Radeon RX 8060S offers all 40 CUs with up to 2.9 GHz graphics clock and uses the new RDNA 3.5 architecture. The powerful iGPU is positioned between an RTX 4060 and 4070 laptop GPU and therefore enables gaming in FHD at maximum details in most demanding games. The 8060S can also utilize the full 128GB pool, which is perfect for running LLMs such as Deepseek 70B Q8, which runs comfortably on this machine.
- EIGHT CHANNEL LPDDR5X - LPDDR5X is a new ground breaking memory small form factor installed on-board. With blazing speeds up to to 8000MT/s, it runs 1.5x faster than the DDR5 SODIMMs; 90% better performance over DDR5 SODIMMs in video conferencing and photo editing; 30% better performance in productivity apps; 12% better performance in digital content workloads.
- QUAD SCREEN 8K DISPLAY SUPPORT - EVO-X2 AI Mini PC support 4-screen 4K/8K output via HDMI 2.1 (8K@60Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (4K@60Hz), and dual USB 4 40Gbps Transfer speed (supporting PD3.0/DP1.4/DATA). Ideal for gaming, video editing, and multitasking, it provides expansive and crisp multi-display support.
Understand retention and sharing limits
For the guide’s prerelease v0.0.54-beta.108, Off Grid AI states that activity history is bounded to 5,000 records, seven days, and 256 MiB of total storage. Payloads and attachments have separate limits, so large content may be truncated or omitted. The guide also describes an action to clear saved diagnostic history. These figures are release-specific, not an evergreen guarantee; check the installed release’s documentation or interface for its current limits.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The guide says known secret fields—including authorization headers, API keys, tokens, passwords, and cookies—are removed from recorded structures. That does not scrub secrets typed into ordinary prompt text. Before sharing copied details, review them, include only what is needed, and use harmless sample input when possible.

Keep the product scope straight
Off Grid AI describes its desktop runtime as local-first, with inference on the user’s hardware. That does not make each activity record proof that a request never used a remote service. As the guide puts it: “Records are bounded diagnostic history; they are not a permanent archive or proof that a request never used a remote service.”
Do not confuse this desktop history with Off Grid AI Console: the organization describes Console as a separate enterprise product with governance and audit features. Those claims are not evidence about what the desktop AI activity view stores.
Quick Recap
Choose one focused follow-up
- If the answer was unexpected, first confirm the expected input appears in the recorded request.
- If the task failed, use its error and any related attempts to select the most relevant check, such as confirming the active model or investigating a recorded fallback.
- Change one relevant setting at a time, then inspect the next record to see what changed.
