To watch Netflix in sync with friends remotely, use a third-party option such as Teleparty. Netflix’s help page lists devices for regular viewing but does not document a built-in remote watch-party feature. Teleparty synchronizes playback and offers text chat; each participant needs access to Netflix and Teleparty software.
What you need before starting
- A Netflix account with access to the title you plan to watch.
- Teleparty installed by the host and each guest. The documented browser method uses its extension; Teleparty also mentions an Android app.
- A supported browser for the extension-based setup. The cited Teleparty pages do not establish a complete compatibility list for every browser, operating system, plan, or device.
Teleparty is a third-party service, not a Netflix feature or endorsement. Netflix supports ordinary viewing through its app on supported smart TVs, phones, tablets, streaming players, and game consoles, and through netflix.com on a computer. That does not mean every device that plays Netflix can host or join a Teleparty. Netflix also notes some TVs and streaming devices made before 2015 may no longer support Netflix. Netflix’s supported-devices information describes regular playback, while Teleparty Support covers Teleparty requirements.

How to create and join a Netflix watch party
- Install Teleparty. Add the Teleparty extension in a supported browser. Teleparty recommends pinning it for easier access. Guests should install the extension too; guests opening an invitation without it will be directed to install it.
- Open Netflix and start a title. Sign in at Netflix, choose the film or episode, and reach its playback page. Teleparty says the host must be signed in to the streaming service and have a show playing before starting a party.
- Create the party. Select the TP button in the browser to start the party and generate an invitation link.
- Invite friends. Send the link to your guests. Each guest must have access to the same streaming service being watched and Teleparty software.
- Start watching together. Once guests have joined, start playback. Teleparty describes synchronized playback and an in-page text chat.
These steps follow Teleparty’s Netflix setup instructions and its support requirements.
What to do if the setup does not match your device
The documented workflow is based on a browser extension, and Teleparty’s support page also mentions an Android app. The available information does not confirm that every Netflix-capable TV, console, mobile device, or browser can run or join a party. If you are not using the browser-extension path, check Teleparty’s current support information for your device before inviting everyone.

For the ordinary Netflix device list, consult Netflix’s supported-devices page. Device compatibility with Netflix alone does not establish compatibility with Teleparty’s synchronized party workflow.
