To get the Virgin Plus Autopay credit, choose an eligible rate plan and set up pre-authorized debit from an eligible bank account within 31 days of your order. Virgin Plus currently describes the credit as $10 per line per month. The available sources confirm the credit and its requirements, but do not establish that Virgin Plus was the latest Canadian carrier to introduce an autopay discount.
How to qualify for the Virgin Plus Autopay credit
- Choose an eligible plan. Virgin Plus advertises the credit on eligible rate plans; not every plan is necessarily eligible. Its current plan page also says eligible bring-your-own-phone activations can qualify. Check the plan’s terms and pricing on the Virgin Plus plan page before ordering, since offers can change.
- Have the credit added to your order. Virgin Plus’s support FAQ says the credit is available when you select an eligible rate plan. Confirm it appears in the order details.
- Register for pre-authorized debit within 31 days of the order. Virgin Plus says this is required to keep the credit. Use an eligible bank account for the automatic withdrawal.
Virgin Plus describes the benefit as a monthly credit of $10 per line on eligible rate plans when pre-authorized payments are set up from an eligible bank account. The support page does not state a publication date, so check the current terms when you sign up: Virgin Plus billing and payments support.
Which payment methods qualify?
The qualifying method is bank-account pre-authorized debit. Virgin Plus says credit-card payments, debit-card payments, manual one-time bill payments, and other payment methods do not qualify for this credit. Paying a bill on time is not enough; the account must use the required automatic bank withdrawal.

What the $10 credit means for your bill
The $10 figure is a monthly credit per eligible line, not the plan’s advertised price. The amount your bill changes by depends on the plan and how its listed price presents the credit. Review the plan’s current price and terms rather than assuming the credit is already included or that every line on an account qualifies.

Was Virgin Plus the latest Canadian carrier to add an autopay discount?
The available evidence does not confirm that historical ranking. Virgin Plus’s current support and plan pages explain how its credit works but do not say when it was introduced. MobileSyrup reported on March 12, 2026, that Virgin Plus plans then included a $10 Autopay discount; that report establishes the credit was present at that time, not its launch date: MobileSyrup’s March 12, 2026 plan comparison.
Rogers and Fido both say that, starting September 15, 2026, their Auto-Pay Discount is available only when eligible services are paid by pre-authorized debit or a Rogers Bank credit card. Those pages describe a change to accepted payment methods, not when either company first introduced a discount: Rogers Auto-Pay Discount support and Fido Auto-Pay Discount support.

To substantiate “latest,” a comparison would need dated launch evidence for Virgin Plus and comparable launch dates for the other Canadian carriers being ranked. The sources here do not provide that chronology, and they are not a complete survey of carriers. Treat “latest” as unverified rather than as an established fact.

- Credit amount per line and whether the plan you want is eligible.
- Required automatic payment method, including whether bank debit or a particular credit card is accepted.
- Setup deadline and any grace period after ordering.
- Whether the advertised plan price already reflects the credit.
Confirm those terms on the carrier’s current plan and support pages before placing an order. A handset is not required to qualify for the Virgin Plus credit; eligibility is tied to the account, plan, and payment setup.
