To get the Fishing Permit in Slayers 2, find Dock Master Sofen at Mistfall Harbor, accept his errand, collect the Permit Stamp from the crates across the water, then return the stamp to Sofen. Community guides report a level 45 requirement and a 5,000 fee, but disagree on the currency label and exact experience reward. Check the active game’s dialogue and reward screen for those details.
Where to start the Fishing Permit quest
Go to Mistfall Harbor and look for Dock Master Sofen at the docks. Recent community walkthroughs identify him as the quest giver and report that you need to be level 45 to accept the errand. The live game’s dialogue is the final check if your level or quest availability differs.
How to find the Permit Stamp
- Talk to Sofen and accept the permit errand. Guides report a fee of 5,000, but differ on whether it is labeled Wen or Yen. Confirm the amount and currency in the current dialogue before accepting.
- Follow the active quest objective across the water toward the crates beside the stone cliff. One guide describes a stack of crates with a blue tarp.
- Collect the Permit Stamp, then return to Sofen. The stamp is the quest item; handing it in is what grants the Fishing Permit.
The stamp’s reported location has shifted between game versions. Use the current objective marker or tracker rather than relying only on an older map description. If the tracker tells you to return to Sofen, you have already collected the stamp.

What the quest costs and rewards
Community guides agree on a reported 5,000 fee but use conflicting currency labels. Their reward figures also differ: one reports a Fishing Permit, a Health Potion, and “Exp +5,400 (x2),” while another reports the permit and 2,700 experience. The available guides do not establish whether the difference comes from display conventions or a game update, so use the amount and reward shown on your own hand-in screen.

What to do after getting the permit
After completing Sofen’s hand-in dialogue, visit Fisherman Jeso, who is reported to be nearby. A current guide lists the Basic Fishing Rod for 3,500 Wen; another source uses Yen for the currency label. Check Jeso’s live shop for the price and currency in your version of the game.
