To use the cursed fang on Morkvarg in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, first investigate Freya’s Garden, read Morkvarg’s journal in the chapter house, then confront Einar in Larvik and hear his explanation of the fang before taking it. Return to Morkvarg and choose the fang dialogue option. If you took the fang without hearing Einar explain its role—or killed him first—you can instead feed Morkvarg werewolf meat looted from his body.
Start In Wolf’s Clothing
In Wolf’s Clothing is a secondary quest in Skellige, centered on Freya’s Garden and Larvik. Speak with Josta at the Temple of Freya to learn why Morkvarg is feared and get the quest context. The quest can also enter your journal through related main-quest progress or a notice board in Larvik.
Investigate Freya’s Garden
- Find Morkvarg. Explore Freya’s Garden and fight him until Geralt can interact with him. He explains his curse and hunger. If you defeat him, he returns; loot the werewolf meat from his body if you may need the alternate solution.
- Search for the chapter house. Use Witcher Senses to follow clues to a flooded cave beneath Morkvarg’s lair. Find the key there and use it to open the chapter house.
- Read Morkvarg’s journal. The journal reveals that Einar, who gave Geralt a misleading account of the curse, was part of Morkvarg’s crew. This discovery sets up the confrontation in Larvik.
Get the fang from Einar the right way
Go to Larvik and confront Einar with what you learned. Let him explain his part in the raid: he says he cut Morkvarg with his father’s rune-carved wolf fang. Hear that explanation before obtaining the fang. The dialogue matters: having the item by itself may not unlock the option to give it to Morkvarg.

Give Morkvarg the cursed fang
- Return to Freya’s Garden and fight Morkvarg until you can interact with him.
- Choose the dialogue option to give him the fang.
The fang lifts the curse and restores Morkvarg to human form. Afterward, you can kill him or ask for the reward he promised. Choosing the reward sends Geralt to a moneylender in the Bits district of Novigrad, where the reward route is associated with Deithwen and a werewolf-decoction page.

If the fang dialogue option is missing
Check whether you heard Einar explain that his father’s fang caused the curse. Walkthrough references agree that acquiring the fang without that conversation can leave the dialogue option unavailable.
If Einar is dead or you cannot use the fang, use Morkvarg’s werewolf meat instead:
