The most reliable free way to earn Black Cards (BC) in Punishing: Gray Raven is to unlock and claim daily and weekly mission rewards, then add available story clears, events, and achievements. Start by advancing the main story: some recurring reward systems are locked behind progress. Keep Black Cards separate from recruitment tickets, which are different rewards.
What should you do first to get more Black Cards?
- Advance the main story. The community-maintained Beginner’s Guide lists daily missions after Normal 1-10, War Zone after Normal 4-8, and Phantom Pain Cage at Commandant level 35 and Normal 5-7. Unlocking these systems opens recurring ways to earn rewards.
- Claim daily missions and activity rewards. Make these part of your regular routine. PityCalculator.com estimates about 30 BC per day from daily tasks in its 2026 guide; this is an estimate, not an official guaranteed amount. See its Black Card estimate.
- Complete weekly missions. Do the activities your account has unlocked, including War Zone and Phantom Pain Cage requirements. PityCalculator.com estimates about 1,000 BC per week from those two modes combined, but actual rewards can vary by account and current configuration. See the listed acquisition routes and the estimate.
- Check story, first-clear, event, login, and achievement rewards. These can provide BC or other recruitment resources. Claim event rewards before an event ends, and remember that tickets are not Black Cards.
Which free BC sources are recurring, and which are one-time?
| Source | How it helps | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Daily missions and activity | Recurring BC rewards; a 2026 third-party guide estimates about 30 BC per day from daily tasks, not a guaranteed official rate. | After unlocking daily missions; the community Beginner’s Guide lists Normal 1-10. |
| Weekly missions, including War Zone and Phantom Pain Cage | Recurring rewards; PityCalculator.com estimates about 1,000 BC per week from War Zone and Phantom Pain Cage combined, subject to account progress and reward configuration. | Mode access is gated by progression. The community Beginner’s Guide lists War Zone after Normal 4-8 and Phantom Pain Cage at Commandant level 35 / Normal 5-7. |
| Story missions and first clears | Can add BC as one-time progression rewards. | Available story content that has not already been cleared. |
| Events, sign-ins, and achievements | May award BC, tickets, or other rewards; check the reward itself rather than counting every recruitment item as BC. | Depends on active events, achievement conditions, and current in-game availability. |
Unlock and claim recurring rewards consistently, then take one-time rewards as they become available. Cleared story rewards are not repeatable income, and event reward schedules change.

How much free BC can you expect?
PityCalculator.com’s 2026 third-party guide estimates 5,200–6,700 BC per month for an active free-to-play player, equivalent in that guide to about 21–27 pulls at 250 BC per pull. Treat both figures as estimates: account progress, one-time rewards, events, and patch structure affect an individual total. Kuro Games has not provided an authoritative itemized total for all BC available in the current Global patch in the sources cited here. See the estimate at PityCalculator.com and its pull conversion.

Older Global reward calculations may not carry over unchanged. In a 2024 Global version integration announcement reproduced on Reddit, the Kuro Games team said, “The rewards will scale with the number of integrated versions.” The announcement also describes adjustments to permanent-mode rewards and says version-specific events may be adjusted or replaced with missions. Check the current in-game Mission and event panels rather than relying on an older monthly total: Global version integration announcement.

Open the current in-game Mission and event screens to see which rewards are available to your account. Event dates and rewards change, so verify the live schedule in the client. See the community event calendar.
