You can’t get a Stardrop from Grandpa’s Shrine. At the start of Year 3, Grandpa evaluates your farm; four lit candles mean you have at least 12 points. Interact with the Shrine to claim the Statue of Perfection, which produces 2–8 Iridium Ore per day. A Stardrop-shaped carving that appears above the Shrine after achieving Perfection is decoration, not a Stardrop item.
How to claim the Statue of Perfection
- Locate Grandpa’s Shrine. It is in the far northwest corner of the farm. Its note reads, “Wait for my return at the dawn of the 3rd year.” Stardew Valley Wiki: Grandpa’s Shrine
- Build evaluation points during the first two years. The evaluation considers milestones such as lifetime earnings, skill levels, achievements, relationships, Community Center progress, and key access. Stardew Valley Wiki: Grandpa’s Evaluation
- Check the candles on Year 3, Day 1. Four candles indicate at least 12 points.
- Claim the reward manually. When all four candles are lit, interact with the Shrine to receive the Statue of Perfection. The evaluation does not automatically put it in your inventory.
- If fewer than four candles are lit, use a Diamond. Place one in the Shrine to request another evaluation. Grandpa reappears to evaluate the farm; the timing can vary, including cases where he appears after a game load or at the start of the next season. Once four candles are lit, interact with the Shrine to claim the statue.
How the candle score works
The evaluation has 21 possible points. The candle thresholds are:

Ways to earn evaluation points
The scoring categories give you options: there is no single achievement you must complete to reach four candles. The point values below follow the Stardew Valley Wiki’s evaluation table.

| Lifetime earnings | One point at each cumulative threshold of 50,000g, 100,000g, 200,000g, 300,000g, and 500,000g; reaching 1,000,000g adds two more, for seven points total. |
| Skills | One point for at least 30 total skill levels and another for at least 50 total levels (level 10 in every skill). |
| Achievements | One point each for A Complete Collection, Master Angler, and Full Shipment. |
| Relationships | One point for being married with the kitchen and nursery house upgrades; one for eight hearts with at least five villagers and another for eight hearts with at least ten; one for approximately five hearts with your pet. |
| Other milestones | One point for completing the Community Center and two for holding its completion ceremony; one point each for obtaining the Skull Key and Rusty Key. |
These category values are not all required at once: combine milestones that suit your save to reach 12 points. The Community Center points are unavailable if you take the Joja route and turn the Community Center into a Joja Warehouse. Stardrops are not required for the maximum evaluation score, according to the wiki’s version 1.05 history.

What the Shrine does—and what the Stardrop carving means
The four-candle reward is the Statue of Perfection, not a Stardrop. Once claimed, the statue produces 2–8 Iridium Ore per day. A Stardrop-shaped stone carving appears above the Shrine after achieving Perfection, but it is only a visual marker.
Stardrops are separate items with other acquisition routes: the Mines’ 100th floor, a spouse or roommate milestone, Krobus, Old Master Cannoli, Willy’s letter after Master Angler, the Stardew Valley Fair, and donating all 95 Museum items. Grandpa’s Shrine is not listed as a Stardrop source. Stardew Valley Wiki: Stardrop

If the Year 3 evaluation seems to be missing
- Fewer than four candles: The score is below 12; use a Diamond at the Shrine for a re-evaluation rather than treating the first result as final.
- A cutscene did not play on Year 3, Day 1: If you get married that day, the marriage cutscene can replace the evaluation cutscene. The candles still reflect your rating, and the evaluation scene plays the next time you enter the farmhouse.
