You can install Fortnite on Android from Google Play or the Epic Games Store app. On iPhone, the official download route depends on your country and available storefront. If you cannot install it, Epic also lists cloud gaming options that stream the game instead of downloading it.
Choose the route for your phone

Epic announced Fortnite’s return to Google Play worldwide on March 19, 2026. For iPhone, Epic’s support pages do not describe every storefront region consistently. Check the official Fortnite listing and Epic’s current regional guidance for your location before choosing a route.

Download Fortnite on Android
- Open Google Play and search for Fortnite, or visit Epic’s official Fortnite mobile page and choose the Epic Games Store app route.
- Open the official Fortnite listing in the store you selected and install the game. Avoid unofficial APK download sites.
- Before downloading, check that your phone meets the Android requirements below.
- Sign in with your Epic account if you want to use your account progression across platforms.
Android requirements
- 64-bit Android on ARM64, running Android 10 or later
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- A supported Adreno or Mali GPU
Epic Games Player Support describes Fortnite as “a high-fidelity game.” Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee the highest graphics settings.

- Check Epic’s iOS installation guidance and regional support information for the route currently available where you live.
- Use the official Fortnite listing in the available storefront. Epic’s guidance includes the App Store and, in some regions, the Epic Games Store or AltStore PAL. For the Epic Games Store route, Epic describes installing its store app, opening it, choosing Fortnite, and tapping Get.
- Check that your iPhone and iOS version meet Fortnite’s requirements before installing.
Epic’s guidance names Australia as a location where Fortnite is unavailable through the App Store. Its descriptions of alternative-store availability differ across support pages, so do not assume that a route offered in one country is available in another.

iPhone requirements
- iOS 17.6.1 or later
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- iPhone 11 or newer; iPhone SE (2nd generation) is excluded

Play without downloading the game
If a native installation is unavailable or impractical, Epic lists Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW, and Amazon Luna as ways to play Fortnite. Cloud gaming streams the game rather than installing it on your phone. Availability depends on the provider and your region, and you need a suitable internet connection.

Before choosing streaming, check whether a listed provider supports Fortnite where you are. Epic does not establish that any one of these services is available everywhere.
Should you install Fortnite or use cloud gaming?
- Choose a native install if Fortnite appears in an official storefront available to you and your phone meets the game’s requirements.
- Consider cloud gaming if you cannot use a native storefront or do not want to install the game, provided a supported service is available in your region.
- Check both requirements and access: a compatible phone does not make a region-limited storefront available, and an available storefront does not make an underpowered phone compatible.
Controls and your Epic account
You can play with touch controls; an external controller is optional. Epic says mobile supports external controllers, but not mouse and keyboard. If you use a controller, verify that it is compatible with your exact phone. Sign in with your existing Epic account to access cross-platform account progression.
