For travel between Pula and Rovinj, start with the intercity bus: Arriva lists multiple daily services and describes the route as about 37 km, taking roughly 30 minutes depending on traffic. For inland destinations, check connections through Pazin, but verify every leg for your travel date rather than assuming a direct or convenient bus exists.

Taking the bus from Pula to Rovinj

Pula–Rovinj is the clearest bus corridor for this itinerary. Arriva offers date-specific route and ticket information, while Brioni also lists Pula services to Rovinj. Compare both operators for your date and direction: displayed departure times and fares can vary, so a sample listing or single price should not be treated as a permanent schedule or universal fare.

Intercity buses use the main bus stations: Pula’s station is at Trg 1. istarske brigade 1, and Rovinj’s is at Trg na Lokvi 6. Allow time to find the correct platform and confirm your boarding point on the ticket or with the operator.

What to compare before booking

  • Departure and arrival times for the exact date.
  • Operator and fare shown for the selected departure.
  • Which station or stop the service uses at each end.
  • Whether the listing is available for your direction and travel day.

Reaching inland towns via Pazin

Pazin is a useful place to investigate when planning beyond the coast. Arriva lists routes connecting Pazin with Pula, Rovinj, Poreč, Umag and other towns, as well as a Pazin–Motovun route. Brioni also lists Pula routes to Pazin and Labin, in addition to Rovinj and Poreč.

A route appearing on an operator’s page does not by itself establish that it runs every day or connects neatly with another bus. For each inland journey, check whether it is direct, which days it operates, how long a transfer in Pazin would take, and how far the destination stop is from the place you want to visit. Verify both legs with the relevant operator before relying on a same-day connection. The available route information does not establish dependable frequency or total journey times for every inland town and village.

How to check schedules and service changes

  1. Search the operator for your date. Use Arriva’s date-selected search for Pula–Rovinj or for routes involving Pazin. Check Brioni as another option on routes it lists, including Pula–Rovinj, Pula–Pazin and Pula–Labin.
  2. Check local transport separately. Pulapromet handles local buses around Pula and provides timetable, route and ticket information along with service notices. Look at notices as well as the timetable because local routes and stops can change.
  3. Confirm station details if needed. The Istria Tourist Board lists station addresses and contacts for Pula, Rovinj and Pazin, and identifies Arriva, Brioni and Fils Pula as local bus transfer companies. Check that page for current contact details. Its Croatian 060 station numbers can only be dialed from within Croatia; the page also gives an international bus-information number for callers abroad.
  4. Recheck close to departure. Confirm the selected departure, stop and any service notice before setting out, especially when a journey includes a transfer or relies on a local route.

Using local buses in Rovinj

Rovinj’s municipal local passenger service is seasonal, with the city listing operation from June 1 through October 1. Its four concession routes serve resort or campground areas and neighborhoods, linking them with the central Trg na Lokvi area. Treat these as local-area transport during the stated season, not as a year-round substitute for intercity buses. Check the city’s current information for the operating period relevant to your visit.

Planning an itinerary that depends on a connection

Build the plan around confirmed departures rather than assuming that buses run frequently. First find a service to the inland town, then check the return or onward leg separately. If the timetable does not provide a workable connection, reconsider the day trip or allow more time; the route listings alone do not confirm that a same-day return is possible.
