You can get the Camera in ARC Raiders by crafting a Basic Camera, finding one as loot, buying one from Shani, or receiving one through Celeste’s “Sizing Things Up” quest. To take a photo, assign the item to Quick Use, hold Q to select it, aim with the right mouse button, and click the left mouse button.
How to get a Camera
The Camera is an in-game gadget added with the Frozen Trail update. It comes in Basic and Advanced versions. Availability, prices, and controls may change with updates; the acquisition details below reflect guides published October 8, 2026.
Craft the Basic Camera
At a Workbench, craft the Basic Camera with one Wire and eight Plastic Parts, according to Destructoid’s guide. That guide says Wire can be found in Electrical areas or salvaged from some materials and ARC tech; Plastic Parts can be found in various loot.

Cameras may appear in loot containers, and Shani may sell them, according to Beebom’s guide. Beebom reports prices of 1.9K coins for Basic and 3K for Advanced. These are guide-reported prices, not guaranteed current prices, so check Shani’s live vendor interface before spending coins.

Using the Camera for “Sizing Things Up”
Celeste’s “Sizing Things Up” quest includes an objective to photograph the Emperor’s leg by the bridge outside Old Town. The quest also lists an optional crashed-probe objective near Almatera Station and an objective to analyze the exposed area on top of the Emperor’s leg near Railroad Junction. The community quest wiki says two of the three objectives are required; confirm the wording and progress requirements in your quest log, since community pages can change.
For a photo objective, equip and use the Camera item to take the picture; merely reaching the location or interacting with the landmark is not the photo step, according to the guides.

Basic or Advanced: which should you use?
| Version | Useful for | Reported details |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Quest photos and ordinary snapshots | Crafting recipe: one Wire and eight Plastic Parts at a Workbench (Destructoid). Shani price reported as 1.9K coins (Beebom; check the live vendor). |
| Advanced | Players who want more photo controls | Shani price reported as 3K coins (Beebom; check the live vendor). Beebom says aperture, autofocus, and zoom settings appear exclusive to this version; confirm its in-game description before buying. |
If you only need a quest photo or a quick snapshot, the Basic Camera is the straightforward option. Consider Advanced only if its reported extra controls matter to you.

Destructoid reports that a Camera in your backpack is lost if you die. Because that detail comes from one guide, check the current game rules and item description. If you want to avoid risking a crafted or purchased Camera, using the quest-provided one or carrying a spare may be prudent.
