To make websites see an Uzbekistani IP address, connect your device to a VPN server that your provider lists in Uzbekistan, usually in Tashkent. The connection replaces your visible public IP address with one associated with that server’s exit point. It does not move you physically to Uzbekistan, it does not verify your identity or account details, and it does not guarantee that a particular website or streaming catalogue will accept the connection.
What an Uzbekistani IP address does and does not do
- It changes the public IP address that websites and IP lookup tools see, so they report an Uzbekistan location.
- It does not place your device physically in Uzbekistan. Some providers list servers in Uzbekistan that are virtual, meaning the traffic exits elsewhere while the listing shows Uzbekistan. Norton’s listing for Tashkent is marked “Physical Server: No,” so treat country labels as a description of the IP location, not of the hardware.
- It does not guarantee access. Websites and streaming services set their own rules, and many can detect and refuse VPN connections.
Which VPN providers currently list Uzbekistan
The table below reflects what each provider’s own pages state. Provider lists change, so confirm the location in the provider’s app before you pay for a plan.

Proton’s and ExpressVPN’s statements come from their own product pages. Norton’s table is the only source here that marks a listed server’s physical status, and that marking applies to Norton’s listing only.
How to connect a device with a VPN app
An app is the simplest route for phones, laptops and other devices that the provider supports. Menu labels vary between apps and versions, so look for a “Locations,” “Server list” or search field if the wording below differs.

- Choose a provider whose current app or website lists Uzbekistan, and confirm your plan includes that location.
- Download the provider’s official app from its website or the device’s official app store, then sign in.
- Open the server or location list and select Uzbekistan. With ExpressVPN, manually selecting Uzbekistan gives a Tashkent IP.
- Connect and wait until the app shows a connected status for the Uzbekistan location.
- Open an IP lookup page in a browser on the same device and check that the reported country is Uzbekistan.
These steps follow provider instructions. They have not been timed or independently benchmarked, so expect results to vary by device, network and server load.
How to cover devices without a VPN app
Televisions, game consoles and some streaming boxes often cannot run a VPN app. Two approaches are commonly used.

Router-level VPN
A VPN-capable router can send traffic from every device on your network through the VPN connection, which removes the need for a client on each device. Before buying or configuring one, confirm:

- The router supports your chosen VPN provider and its protocol.
- The router’s firmware version supports that configuration.
- The provider publishes setup instructions for that router or firmware.
Labels such as “smart TV” or “travel router” do not establish that a device is compatible with a given provider.

Smart DNS services
Smart DNS services, such as Smart DNS Proxy, work differently from a full VPN and only redirect selected lookups. Smart DNS Proxy publishes router setup guides, but its location list dated March 19, 2024 does not include Uzbekistan. Check its current list before assuming the service offers an Uzbekistan location.
Streaming and speed trade-offs
A VPN can add latency or reduce throughput because traffic takes a longer route. StreamNeo’s guidance on VPN routing makes the same point and says access to streaming services is not guaranteed. A VPN is therefore not a default fix for buffering, and it may help only in a narrow case where the location matters.

To judge the effect on your own setup, play the same stream at a similar time of day on the same device and network, once with the VPN off and once with it on. Compare startup time, buffering and picture quality. Also read the streaming service’s current terms, since it may restrict VPN use regardless of the IP address shown.
Legal and privacy notes
Proton VPN’s FAQ states that VPN use is legal in Uzbekistan, and that activity while connected remains subject to the country’s laws. That is Proton’s statement, not legal advice, and laws can change. Check current Uzbekistani law before relying on it.

Privacy, encryption and no-logs statements on provider pages are the provider’s own claims. The provider pages reviewed for this article did not include an independent audit of the Uzbekistan endpoints. Do not describe a VPN connection as anonymous or fully private on the strength of marketing copy alone. If privacy is your goal, look for an audit by a named independent firm before trusting a provider’s policy.
When the connection still shows your home country
- The VPN is not actually connected. Confirm the app shows a connected status and that the selected location is Uzbekistan, not the default location.
- Some apps bypass the VPN. If your VPN app has split-tunnelling or per-app exclusions, check that the browser or app you are testing is not excluded.
- The lookup result is stale or inconsistent. Reload the IP lookup page, then try a second lookup tool.
- Uzbekistan is missing from your list. Check whether your plan includes that location, or choose a provider that lists it currently.
- The website still refuses access. Sites can block known VPN addresses. No provider can guarantee that a particular site will accept its endpoint.
Once the IP lookup confirms the Uzbekistan location, the remaining variable is the destination site’s own policy, not the VPN setup.
