To exit Safe Mode on a Redmi phone, power it off and start it again normally. Xiaomi documents this as the standard exit procedure. Your downloaded apps are disabled—not necessarily deleted—while Safe Mode is active, and their icons should return after the restart.
Restart your Redmi to exit Safe Mode
-
Open the phone’s power menu and choose the option to power off.
-
Wait until the phone has switched off completely, then turn it on normally.

After startup, check that the “Safe mode” label has disappeared and your downloaded app icons are visible again. Xiaomi says a restart exits Safe Mode and that third-party app icons return afterward. Xiaomi’s exit instructions and its Safe Mode FAQ describe this behavior.

If the phone is unresponsive, consult support information for your exact Redmi model before trying button combinations. Different combinations can open recovery or other startup modes, and no single combination is established here as a general exit method.
Why your Redmi says “Safe mode”
Safe Mode starts the phone with system apps while disabling third-party apps. Xiaomi describes it as a troubleshooting mode that can help isolate problems such as app-related crashes, freezes, or performance issues. The absence of downloaded app icons in this mode does not, by itself, mean those apps have been removed.

Safe Mode behavior and instructions can vary by model. For example, Xiaomi’s global FAQ confirms support on the REDMI Note 14 5G and describes holding the volume-down button during startup as a way to enter Safe Mode. That is an entry instruction for that model, not the general procedure for exiting. See Xiaomi’s REDMI Note 14 5G FAQ.
If the phone starts in Safe Mode again
Xiaomi’s general exit guidance establishes restarting as the way out, but it does not identify one universal cause or fix for a Redmi that repeatedly returns to Safe Mode. Check Xiaomi support materials for your specific model and software version. Avoid jumping to a factory reset based only on the Safe Mode label.

If you also suspect a physical button fault or another hardware problem, seek advice from an authorized service center. Xiaomi discusses button faults in guidance about abnormal restarting, but that does not establish a diagnosis for every recurring Safe Mode case. Xiaomi’s crash, freeze, and restart troubleshooting guidance provides adjacent context.
