To obtain a North Macedonian IP address, connect to a VPN server location listed for North Macedonia. Install the provider’s app, sign in, choose that location, and connect. Websites will generally see the VPN’s exit IP instead of your regular public IP—but that does not guarantee that every site or app will accept the connection.
How to get a North Macedonian IP address
- Choose a VPN with a North Macedonia location. Check the provider’s current server list and confirm it supports your device. Official listings include Proton VPN’s North Macedonia servers, ExpressVPN’s North Macedonia location, NordVPN’s server directory, and PIA’s VPN servers. These pages establish that the providers list the location; they do not provide independent performance tests.
- Install the app and sign in. Use the provider’s official app for your device. Proton VPN and ExpressVPN document app-based setup on their linked location pages.
- Select North Macedonia and connect. Choose the country in the app’s server list or map, then wait for the connection to complete.
- Check the intended service. If a website still reports the wrong location, confirm the VPN app says it is connected, then consult that service’s VPN guidance. For Netflix’s VPN/proxy message, Netflix recommends checking the detected country and IP with Fast.com.
Follow the local laws and the terms of service that apply to you. A VPN changes the apparent network location; it does not change your physical location or guarantee access to a service.
What a “North Macedonia” VPN location means
The country shown in an app identifies the location associated with the VPN’s exit IP. It does not always tell you where the server hardware is physically located. ExpressVPN explicitly describes its North Macedonia location as virtual, meaning the hardware may be elsewhere while the IP is designated for North Macedonia. If physical server location matters to you, check the provider’s explanation rather than relying on the country label alone.

- Current availability: Confirm that North Macedonia remains on the server list when you sign up and when you need to connect.
- Virtual or physical location: Check whether the provider discloses a virtual endpoint, especially if the hardware’s location matters.
- Device support: Verify that the provider offers an app or setup method for your phone, computer, or other device.
- Privacy and security information: Read the provider’s documentation and evaluate its claims directly. Statements about speed, streaming compatibility, or no-logs practices on provider pages are claims by those providers, not independent test results.
- Acceptance by the service you need: A listed VPN location does not establish that a particular website, bank, government service, or streaming app will accept the connection.
Streaming and account access are not guaranteed
A North Macedonian exit IP may make a device appear to connect from another location, but it does not ensure a particular streaming catalog or account will work. Netflix says a VPN can make a device or network look as if it is connecting from somewhere other than its physical location. Netflix may limit VPN viewing to titles it has worldwide licensing for, does not support VPNs for live events or ad-supported experiences, and may show a VPN/proxy error. Its VPN/proxy troubleshooting guidance includes turning off the VPN if the error appears.
Provider claims of compatibility do not prove that a specific server will work at the time you try it. The cited evidence does not establish acceptance by any particular bank or government account; those services may apply their own location, identity, and fraud checks.

Why the IP may not appear to be Macedonian
- The VPN is not connected: Check the app’s connection status and reconnect to North Macedonia.
- The service blocks or flags the VPN: Follow the service’s own troubleshooting instructions. A country change does not override its VPN policies or account checks.
- The endpoint is virtual: The IP may be assigned to North Macedonia even though the server hardware is elsewhere; that distinction can matter to some location checks.
- The provider’s listing has changed: Server availability can change, so confirm the current country list rather than relying on an old setup guide.
The provider pages cited here were accessed on October 7, 2026. Server locations and service policies can change after that date.
