To get a Maldivian IP address while abroad, connect to a VPN server location listed as Maldives or Malé, then check the public IP assigned to your connection. VyprVPN’s location directory currently lists “Maldives – Male,” and its support instructions explain how to select a server in the app. Availability and how websites classify an IP can change, so verify both the endpoint and the result when you connect.
Choose a VPN that lists Maldives
A VPN routes your connection through an exit server, so websites may see the server’s public IP instead of your usual one. Look for a selectable Maldives or Malé location in the provider’s current server list. VyprVPN’s official server directory lists “Maldives – Male.” Its Maldives page also describes IP addresses originating from its global VPN server locations; that is the provider’s own description, not a guarantee that another website will accept the connection.
Another provider to check is NordVPN: its server directory displays Maldives as a location with one city. The listing alone does not establish that a working connection will be available to every user or that a resulting IP will be classified as Maldivian.
Connect to the Maldives location
- Install and open the VPN provider’s app, then sign in.
- Open Servers and search or scroll for Maldives or Malé.
- Select the location and wait for the app to report a connection. VyprVPN’s support guide says that selecting a new location starts a connection attempt: How do I change server locations?
Exact labels and layout can differ across apps and versions. If you do not see the location, check the provider’s current directory or contact its support rather than assuming that a country shown on a marketing page is available in your app.

Verify the public IP and test the site you need
After connecting, use a public-IP lookup service and check its country result. IPinfo’s record for 202.153.80.0, for example, shows the kinds of fields a lookup may provide, including location and network information. It identifies that example address with Male, Maldives, and Ooredoo Maldives Plc / AS55944; it is not a test of a VPN session.
- If the lookup does not show Maldives, confirm that the app is connected to the right location and reconnect. If the result still differs, ask the VPN provider about the assigned IP.
- If the lookup shows Maldives but the intended site does not work, test that site or app directly. Services can reject VPN traffic or use additional location checks, and a country label from an IP database does not guarantee access.
- Different lookup databases and websites may classify the same address differently. Treat a lookup as a useful check, not a universal verdict.
What a Maldivian IP does—and does not—establish
A lookup reporting Maldives indicates how that database classifies the IP; it does not prove that the server hardware or the full network route is physically inside the country. VyprVPN explains that it uses virtual server locations in some countries, but its general support article does not identify Maldives as one of them. If physical routing matters to you, ask the provider directly: Why don’t you offer server locations in certain countries?

IP inventories are also time-sensitive. IPinfo’s Maldives network page reported eight Maldives-based VPN IPs associated with VyprVPN when accessed October 7, 2026. That third-party inventory count can change; it does not mean you receive a dedicated address or that every listed IP will be assigned or work in a given session.

Before relying on the connection
- Recheck the provider’s location list when you sign up and whenever you need the connection; server availability can change.
- Check the assigned public IP after connecting, especially before using a service that depends on location.
- Review the target service’s terms and location requirements. No general VPN location listing establishes access to a particular bank, government portal, or streaming service.
- If you need to know whether the endpoint is physically in Maldives, get a direct answer from the provider; the available location listing does not settle that question.
