A Lesotho IP address comes from a VPN exit server that your provider locates in Lesotho. Being physically in Lesotho does not give you one. When you connect to a VPN, websites see the address of the server you chose, so the country they report is the exit location, not where you are sitting. Confirm that Lesotho appears in the provider’s current location list before you pay, then connect and check the public IP’s reported country.
Start with the goal you actually have
“Lesotho IP address” can mean four different things, and only one of them requires a Lesotho exit server.
| Your goal | Exit location to choose | Produces a Lesotho IP? |
|---|---|---|
| Appear to browse from Lesotho | Lesotho, if the provider lists it and the assigned address geolocates there | Yes, only when both conditions hold |
| Faster browsing while you are in Lesotho | A nearby server, which may be in another country | No |
| Reach a service limited to your home country | Your home country | No, unless your home country is Lesotho |
| Use a VPN while travelling in Lesotho | Whichever server you choose | No; sites see the chosen server’s country |
A recent iTechGuides article draws the same line between using a VPN in Lesotho and obtaining a Lesotho IP, and reports that the providers it discussed did not establish a Lesotho exit.

Why the exit location decides the country
A VPN replaces the IP address that websites see with the address of the VPN server. The country attached to that address is the one sites use for geolocation, language defaults and many regional checks. NordVPN’s official server-location page puts it this way: “A regular VPN server encrypts your internet traffic and replaces your IP address.”

Some providers also run virtual locations. ExpressVPN’s official server page explains that a virtual location can have its registered IP in the selected country while the physical server sits elsewhere. A “Lesotho” entry of that kind would show a Lesotho address, but the traffic would still travel through a server in another country. Check the provider’s own description of each location before assuming the server is physically in Lesotho.
What the provider evidence shows
Lesotho is a small market for VPN providers, and the evidence for each service is uneven. The table below separates what has been stated from what has been confirmed.

| Provider | Lesotho status in the evidence reviewed | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| CometVPN | Advertised. Its marketing page describes a Lesotho server pool and lists Maseru. | Marketing claim only. Current operation of a Lesotho endpoint and the geolocation of its assigned IPs have not been independently confirmed. |
| NordVPN | Not established. Its official support page explains where to check locations and server types. | Confirm Lesotho in the live server list. |
| ExpressVPN | Not established. Its official server page lists country locations and explains virtual locations. | Confirm Lesotho in the live location list. |
| Le VPN | Not in the location list returned during review. South Africa and other African and Middle Eastern locations were listed. | A missing entry in one returned list does not prove the provider lacks Lesotho at all times. |
Set up a Lesotho exit, step by step
- Check the live list first. Open the provider’s website or app and search the server or location list for “Lesotho”. If it is absent, ask support to confirm in writing. Do not subscribe on the strength of a marketing page alone.
- Subscribe and install the app. Install the provider’s app on your device and sign in. CometVPN’s described flow follows this pattern, but its Lesotho endpoint remains unverified.
- Select Lesotho from the country list. Choose the country entry itself rather than a neighbouring country’s city.
- Connect and wait for the connected state. Confirm that the app shows a Lesotho location as the active connection before you open a browser.
- Check the public IP. Open any reputable IP lookup page and read the country it reports. Le VPN’s IP-check page explains that the displayed address should reflect the selected VPN server.
- Test the service you need. Load the specific site or account page you want to reach.
When the check fails, and what it means
- The lookup shows Lesotho, but the site still blocks you. Sites can detect and refuse VPN addresses, and some require accounts or local registration. A correct IP country does not guarantee access.
- The lookup shows another country. The app may not have connected to the Lesotho server, or the server may be assigned to a different country. Reconnect and recheck. If the lookup still reports another country, the provider’s Lesotho entry is not giving you a Lesotho IP.
- The lookup shows Lesotho, but the location is virtual. The address is registered in Lesotho while the server runs elsewhere. This satisfies a geolocation goal but does not mean your traffic is handled inside the country.
- You are physically in Lesotho and the lookup shows a different country. This is expected. Your VPN choice determines the reported country, not your physical location.
Compare providers on five points
- Whether Lesotho appears in the live country list.
- Whether the endpoint is physical or virtual, and where its IP address is registered.
- Supported devices and protocols.
- Privacy and logging disclosures.
- Whether your target site accepts VPN connections.
For speed, compare nearby locations. For home-country access, compare servers in that country. Network size and general VPN rankings say nothing about whether a Lesotho endpoint exists.

What is not established
- No measured speeds or performance benchmarks for Lesotho endpoints have been established, so no claim about connection quality from Lesotho can be made.
- No Lesotho-specific usage statistic is available to support a broader claim about demand or service quality.
- No reviewed hardware product can create a Lesotho exit on its own. A router or device can send traffic through a VPN service, but the exit location still depends on that service.
- Provider location lists change. A country listed today may be removed later, so check the list on the day you subscribe.
