Use the WNBA’s Player Movement & Transactions page to look for a move, then check the Roster Tracker to see the team’s roster snapshot. For important details, confirm the entry with a dated league or team announcement. These sources answer different questions: what transaction was reported, who is listed on a team now, and what the move involved.
Where to check for WNBA player moves
Start with the official transaction page
Open the WNBA’s Player Movement & Transactions page and use its team and transaction filters. Note the displayed date and the move label, such as signing, trade, waiver, or draft selection. The page is dynamic; its rendered view showed “No transactions available” during a recent crawl. An empty view is not proof that no move occurred, so retry it and verify consequential details elsewhere.
Use the roster tracker for the current team picture
The Roster Tracker lists teams, roster sizes, draft picks, and links to team transactions. Use it to check which team currently lists a player and to understand the broader roster context. It is a snapshot, not a chronological account, and its season-specific information can change.

Corroborate with dated team or league material
For the explanation or specifics behind a move, look for a dated team announcement or league release. The WNBA’s 2026 free-agency archive collects official free-agency news and team announcements. A team media guide can also preserve transaction history: the 2026 Chicago Sky Media Guide, published in May 2026, is one example. A media guide is a dated reference, not a live tracker.

A simple workflow for tracking a move
- Find the transaction. Search the official transaction page using its team and transaction filters. Record the displayed date, move type, player or players, and teams involved.
- Check the roster snapshot. Look up the team in the Roster Tracker and note the player’s listed team, roster size, and relevant draft-pick context.
- Confirm important details. Open a dated official team or league announcement, especially if the move’s type or context is unclear.
- Keep event and outcome records separate. Maintain a chronological log of transactions and update the roster snapshot separately. Official pages may not all reflect a move at the same time; no public update-time guarantee is established for every page.
For comparing multiple moves, use the same fields for each entry: transaction date, move type, players and teams, any explicitly announced consideration, and resulting roster context. Do not infer undisclosed terms or consequences.

How to read labor-agreement news without overinterpreting it
The WNBA said the new seven-year collective bargaining agreement would begin with the 2026 season and run through 2032. The league and WNBPA announced on May 22, 2026 that they had completed and signed the long-form agreement. Those announcements provide labor context, but they do not by themselves establish the details of a particular player’s contract, salary, eligibility, or transaction. For a specific rule, consult the agreement or an official explanation addressing that rule.
