For Ohio State’s 2026 Big Ten conference games, check the official football availability reports on BigTen.org. The conference schedules reports at 8 p.m. ET three days, two days, and one day before kickoff, then a final report two hours before kickoff. Use the newest report as the current published snapshot—not as a guarantee that a player’s status cannot change.
Where to find Ohio State’s official availability report
For a Big Ten conference game, the conference says its football availability reports are published on BigTen.org. Look there for the applicable game’s report rather than treating Ohio State’s general team pages or news coverage as an equivalent weekly report feed.
Ohio State’s official football roster can help confirm a player’s name, position, and team role. The football hub and media center provide other context, such as team news, press conferences, and game materials.

| Report | Scheduled timing | Permitted status labels |
|---|---|---|
| Three days before kickoff | 8 p.m. ET | Probable; Questionable; Doubtful; Out; Out (1st Half) |
| Two days before kickoff | 8 p.m. ET | Probable; Questionable; Doubtful; Out; Out (1st Half) |
| One day before kickoff | 8 p.m. ET | Probable; Questionable; Doubtful; Out; Out (1st Half) |
| Gameday final report | Two hours before kickoff | Game Time Decision; Out; Out (1st Half) |
These are policy deadlines, not a promise that a report will settle every question about a player. When tracking a player through the week, note the publication time and treat each designation as a snapshot. If a later report changes the status, use that newer report when describing the player’s current listed status.
What the designations mean—and what an unlisted player means
The midweek and gameday reports use different categories. In particular, “Game Time Decision” is a gameday designation; it is not one of the listed midweek labels. The Big Ten states that “Student-athletes not listed on a report are considered Available.” That describes the status conveyed by that report. It does not rule out a later change, including one after the report is published.

What the report covers
The Big Ten policy applies to competition against Big Ten opponents; do not assume its conference-game schedule establishes a required report for every Ohio State game. It also limits what a visiting team must report: players on the travel squad, plus certain players outside that squad who are listed on the offense, defense, or special-teams two-deep or otherwise regularly participate in games. A report is therefore not necessarily a comprehensive medical roster.
How to check a player’s status during game week
- Confirm the game context. Establish whether the matchup is a Big Ten conference game, a nonconference game, or a College Football Playoff game. The Big Ten schedule described here is for conference games.
- Check BigTen.org at the scheduled release times. For a 2026 Big Ten game, look for the three 8 p.m. ET reports and the final report two hours before kickoff.
- Record the report and its time. When you share a player’s designation, identify it as the status listed on that report, rather than presenting an earlier label as current after a newer report appears.
- Verify player identity on Ohio State’s roster. Use the roster to resolve name or position confusion; use the team hub and media center for broader team context.
- Use comments and coverage as context, not as the designation. A coach’s remarks or news report may describe what was said publicly during the week, but the applicable availability report is the source for its listed status.
Nonconference games and College Football Playoff games
Nonconference games
Do not use the Big Ten conference-game reporting timetable as proof that Ohio State has a required report for a nonconference matchup. Ohio State’s official pages offer roster and media information, but the cited material does not establish a separate nonconference availability-report schedule.

College Football Playoff games
The CFP has its own reporting process. Under the cited 2025–26 CFP policy, participating teams begin reports three days before a game, update them daily, and submit a final report 90 minutes before game time. Its gameday categories also differ from the Big Ten’s. Consult the policy for the season of the specific playoff game, since these details can change between seasons.
