For a broad view of current MLB free-agent signings and roster moves, start with MLB.com’s Hot Stove tracker. Use MLB Trade Rumors when you need to search transaction records by contract length or reported value, and check a dated team or league announcement before treating a consequential report or exact contract term as confirmed.
Start with MLB.com’s Hot Stove tracker
Open the MLB.com Hot Stove tracker for a league-wide browse of player movement. Its records show fields such as player, position, prior team, new team, transaction date and notes. Filters let you narrow the view by roster-move status, team or position.

This is a useful first stop when you want to see what moves are listed and which clubs are involved. The page’s existence and filters do not establish that it is always the first tracker to update or that it contains every transaction.
Search transaction and contract details with MLB Trade Rumors
The MLB Trade Rumors Transaction Tracker offers more search controls for record-oriented questions. Its listed fields include player, team, transaction type, date range, free-agent type, contract years and contract value. That makes it a practical choice when you are looking for a particular category of move or want to locate reported contract terms.

It is a secondary database, not the announcement itself. For a disputed move or a consequential contract detail, follow up with the dated announcement from the team or MLB. Preserve the status used there: a deal described as agreed or pending a physical is not automatically the same as an officially completed signing.
Use FanGraphs to distinguish types of roster moves
FanGraphs RosterResource’s transaction tracker organizes moves into categories including free agency, trades, extensions, waivers, DFA, promotions and demotions. It can help when you want to understand what kind of roster action a listing represents, rather than just search by player or date.

Look up a player’s career transaction history
For a player-by-player career movement view, Baseball Savant provides a career transactions page. That page says its transaction information was obtained from Retrosheet. Treat that source statement as applying to the page’s data and scope; it does not establish that all transaction trackers use the same source or cover identical records.

Trackers are most useful for discovering and organizing moves. When the exact status or terms matter, look for the dated team or MLB announcement and read its wording directly. This is especially important when a listing is disputed or when a report distinguishes between an agreement, a deal pending a physical and an official signing.
