For Michigan State football kickoff times, TV listings, radio and game links, use the official 2026 MSU schedule. For formal player status against Big Ten opponents, check the conference’s current availability report at BigTen.org. Coach comments can add context, but they are dated and are not a substitute for the current report.
Where to watch or listen to Michigan State football
The MSU 2026 football schedule is the best place to confirm details for a specific game. It lists dates, opponents, kickoff times, TV networks and Spartan Media Network radio, with game-center links for matchup information. Live stats are available for selected games. Check the page close to kickoff because broadcast assignments and times can be updated.
Next listed game: Illinois
As of October 4, 2026, the next game listed is at home against Illinois on Saturday, October 10, at 3:30 p.m. The schedule lists FS1 and Spartan Media Network. Several later games still have kickoff times or television assignments marked TBA, so verify the current listing rather than relying on an older schedule announcement.

The MSU football page collects news, game-center links, results, live events, video, archives and audio. For deeper matchup records, the 2026 media-center page organizes game notes, final statistics and game books, flip cards, and weekly press-conference videos by matchup. The schedule also links to tickets and tailgate booking for selected home games.

An earlier schedule announcement can be useful for background, but it may no longer reflect the latest details. For example, MSU’s May 27 announcement named initial broadcast plans and an early Illinois kickoff window; the live schedule is the better source when the two differ. See the May 27 schedule announcement for that original rollout.
Where to find the official Michigan State injury report
For Big Ten conference-opponent games in 2026, the formal source is the conference’s Football Availability Reporting Process and the matchup’s availability report on BigTen.org. Although fans often search for an “injury report,” the conference calls its formal system an availability report. Use the report for the game in question rather than assuming a player’s status from an earlier week.

When reports are issued
For a conference game, schools submit reports three days, two days and one day before kickoff, each due by 8 p.m. Eastern. A final report is due two hours before kickoff. The latest report is therefore the one to consult nearest game time.
How to read the status labels
Midweek reports use Probable, Questionable, Doubtful, Out, or Out (1st Half). Game-day reports use Game Time Decision, Out, or Out (1st Half). Under the conference policy, a student-athlete who is not listed is considered Available. Visiting-team reporting is limited by travel-party rules to traveling players, along with certain players on the two-deep or otherwise regular participants.

Scope matters
The Big Ten process described here applies to games against conference opponents; it should not be treated as a guaranteed reporting schedule for every nonconference MSU game. For those games, look for team statements and coach updates, and check the MSU schedule and game-center links for current official information.
How MSU coach updates fit in
MSU press conferences can explain a player’s situation or provide longer-term context, but they reflect what was said on a particular date—not a live roster status. On September 28, 2026, head coach Pat Fitzgerald said, “Most of it will be up to the availability report.” The same transcript said running back Cam Edwards “is going to be done for the year.” Those remarks preceded the October 3 Wisconsin game and should not be read as a current injury list for a later matchup. Read the September 28 press-conference transcript with its date in mind.
