To follow League of Legends esports in 2026, use the official LoL Esports schedule to track matches, learn each regional league’s playoff rules from its current rulebook, and open the relevant event’s viewing guide for language-specific streams. The season spans six regional leagues and three splits, with international events between them.
What are the LoL esports leagues in 2026?
Riot’s 2026 ecosystem has six regional professional leagues. Their formats, membership, and schedules are not identical, so treat each as its own competition.
| League | Region |
|---|---|
| CBLOL | Brazil |
| LCK | Korea |
| LCP | Pacific |
| LCS | North and Central America |
| LEC | Europe, Middle East and Africa |
| LPL | Mainland China |
Riot describes three regional splits during the year. The first leads into First Stand, the second feeds into MSI, and the third culminates in a Regional Championship. The season then builds toward Worlds. See Riot’s LoL Esports site for the current ecosystem and event information.

First Stand
First Stand follows the first regional split. Riot’s 2026 overview describes it as an eight-team event using Fearless Draft.
MSI
Riot describes MSI 2026 as an 11-team event representing six major leagues, with a Play-In stage followed by a Bracket stage. The MSI champion can earn a guaranteed Worlds slot if it meets the regional summer-split requirement; the runner-up’s region receives an additional slot. Check Riot’s current event rules for the precise qualification conditions.

Worlds
Riot’s 2026 schedule lists Worlds for October 15–November 14. Its ecosystem page conflicts with itself on whether the tournament has 17 or 18 teams, so the field size is unresolved in Riot’s published information. The page describes Play-Ins, a Swiss stage, and an eight-team knockout stage.
How do LoL playoffs work?
There is no single playoff format shared by all six leagues. Teams progress through their league’s regular season, then compete under that league’s current qualification rules and bracket. To find the applicable details:

- Open the official LoL Esports site and find the league and event on its schedule.
- Check the fixture labels, such as “Playoffs,” “Finals,” or “Regional Qualifier,” and the series length shown on the match card.
- Use Riot’s competition rules and event information to check the league’s current bracket, team qualification, and international-slot allocation. Rules and event-specific provisions can change during the season.
Riot’s 2026 schedule illustrates the variation: selected LCK, LPL, and LEC playoff fixtures are labeled best-of-five (Bo5), while LCS regular-season examples are best-of-three (Bo3). These examples do not establish the format for every stage or league; rely on the specific current fixture and rules.

Language-specific examples
Riot’s LCP guide lists English broadcasts on Twitch and YouTube; Vietnamese on YouTube and TikTok; Traditional Chinese on Twitch and YouTube; Japanese on Twitch and YouTube; and Thai on Twitch and YouTube. These are examples from that event guide, not a permanent directory for all LoL esports. Check the current LCP or event page because channels and platform availability can change.

Riot’s Americas Cup guide lists English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish channels on Twitch and YouTube. For MSI 2026, Riot’s viewing guide describes Drops through LoLEsports.com or KICK for eligible viewers signed in with a Riot ID, alongside participating Twitch channels and co-streamers. Choosing a match to watch
If you are new or returning, use these details to find a manageable starting point:
- Region and teams: Pick a league or team you want to follow.
- Stage: Decide between regular season, playoffs, a final, or an international event.
- Start time: Check the listing in your local time zone rather than relying on a date from a static article.
- Series length: Read the fixture card to see whether the match is Bo3, Bo5, or another format.
- Broadcast: Confirm the language, platform, and any co-stream options on the current event page.
Watching in person
Some events offer live attendance. Riot’s LEC Summer Finals 2026 guide describes finals in Nice, a public watch party, and ticket information. That is specific to the event; check its current guide for availability rather than assuming tickets or watch parties are offered for every competition.
