To follow a live cricket match on your phone, open a cricket app or mobile website, select the match, and use its live scorecard alongside the ball-by-ball commentary. If you do not want to keep checking the page, a service with match alerts or notifications may be more convenient. Coverage and alert delivery can vary, so confirm that the service lists your match.
Follow the match in a cricket app or your phone’s browser
You do not need to install an app just to check a score. Cricbuzz lists both phone apps and a mobile-browser option on its mobile apps page. ESPNcricinfo’s Google Play listing describes live scores and ball-by-ball commentary in its app. Choose whichever access route is easier on your device.
- Open the cricket app or mobile site you want to use.
- Find the live match or match centre and select the fixture. Labels and layouts can change between services and app versions.
- Read the scorecard for the current score and match state, then use the ball-by-ball feed for the sequence of deliveries and commentary.
- Check that the match and competition shown are the ones you intend to follow.
Cricbuzz describes live scores and ball-by-ball coverage across international matches and leagues on its About Us page. ESPNcricinfo’s Google Play listing also describes live scores, commentary, and coverage across international and domestic competitions. These are service descriptions, not guarantees that every fixture is available in every country.

If you want updates without repeatedly opening the scorecard, check whether your chosen service offers alerts for the match and enable notifications for the app in your phone’s settings if prompted. Exact setup steps can differ by app version and phone; the cited service pages do not document every current setup screen.

Do not choose an app on the assumption that it is faster or more accurate than another: the cited descriptions do not provide a comparative update-speed test.
What to expect from live text coverage
- Text is enough for score-following. A scorecard and ball-by-ball feed provide a way to track a match without watching video.
- Alerts are a convenience, not a substitute for checking coverage. A service may offer notifications, but its listing does not establish that all matches are covered or that every update arrives instantly.
- Video availability is local and event-specific. Cricbuzz limits its streaming description to select geographies; that statement does not establish current rights for a particular reader or match.
Official cricket apps have offered match-centre features in the past, but dated announcements should not be treated as proof of current features. For example, the ICC’s 3 May 2017 announcement described a planned tournament match centre with ball-by-ball updates and commentary for that season’s ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup. It is historical context, not a current app guarantee.
