To troubleshoot UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC, first note the exact error and when it occurs, then test the fix that matches it. Nixxes identifies several possible causes—including driver problems, software conflicts, overclocking and hardware instability—so no single setting is a guaranteed fix. Work through the reversible checks below one at a time and see whether the symptom changes.
Record what happens before changing settings
Write down the exact warning or error code and when it appears. Note whether the crash or stutter happens randomly or repeats at the same point, along with your game version and store, GPU, CPU, graphics-driver version, resolution and graphics settings. Also note whether overclocking, overlays, capture tools, antivirus features or graphics-enhancement software are running. This makes it easier to distinguish a device hang from a video-memory warning or a repeatable scene-specific problem. Fixes for a DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG message
This message means the graphics card stopped responding. Nixxes lists outdated or corrupted drivers, software conflicts, overclocking, overheating and hardware instability as possible contributors; the message alone does not identify which one applies.

Use the GPU maker’s driver installation options to perform a clean installation, then check whether the game still hangs. Nixxes provides instructions for clean-installing a graphics driver.
- Reduce the graphics load. Lower the graphics preset or resolution. If frame generation or another optional feature is enabled, turn it off for the test.
- Close background apps and overlays. Temporarily close software that records, displays an overlay or modifies graphics. The next section lists examples Nixxes names.
- Return overclocked components to default settings. Test without a CPU, GPU or memory overclock before making other changes.
- Verify the game files. Use the file-verification option in your game store’s launcher, then retry the same scene or activity.
- If you use an NVIDIA GPU, try NVIDIA Debug Mode. Treat it as a diagnostic test, not a guaranteed fix.

Test overlays and enhancement software for stuttering
Nixxes says overlays and software that hooks into the game can sometimes contribute to stuttering, freezing, performance problems or crashes. Examples include OBS, ReShade, Overwolf, SteelSeries GG Sonar, Logitech G-Hub, RTSS, MSI Afterburner and NVIDIA Filters. Nixxes: overlay and enhancement software issues
- Close or detach one overlay or enhancement tool.
- Run the game in the same situation where the problem usually occurs.
- If the symptom remains, restore that tool and test the next one. If it improves, leave the suspected tool off temporarily and test again before deciding whether it is responsible.
Changing one item at a time helps identify a possible conflict without leaving several unrelated tools disabled.

Check antivirus features if the game stutters or freezes
Nixxes reports player feedback that Malwarebytes Real-Time Protection and/or Ransomware Protection can affect game performance. If you use Malwarebytes, temporarily test whether disabling the relevant feature or adding an exception changes the stutter or freeze. Restore protection after the test if it does not help; do not leave security protection disabled as a general remedy. Nixxes: antivirus-related stuttering and freezing
Respond to a video-memory warning
If the game displays a video-memory warning, follow its targeted advice first: lower graphics settings and resolution, and close unnecessary background applications. Nixxes also says this warning can occur when Windows page-file allocation is insufficient, including on high-end hardware. As an initial test, let Windows manage the page-file size automatically. Automatic management is not a universal fix: Nixxes notes documented cases where automatic page-file growth can cause allocation errors. If changing this setting does not help or causes another problem, consult Microsoft’s page-file troubleshooting guidance rather than making unrelated system changes.
Compare your PC with the published performance targets
PlayStation’s PC specifications describe average performance goals, not guaranteed results on every system. Compare your intended resolution, frame rate and settings with the closest tier, including the listed GPU, video memory, CPU, RAM and storage. If your PC falls short of the target that matches your chosen resolution and settings, lower those demands before considering an upgrade. Being above the minimum does not rule out a software conflict or instability. The game’s PC options include graphics settings, GPU/VRAM management options, ultrawide support and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2; these can help adjust visual quality and performance, but none is established as a general crash fix. If a crash is reproducible, submit it through the in-game Crash Report window. Nixxes asks for three items with the support request:
