If Nintendo Music downloads won’t play offline, reconnect the app to the internet and leave it open for about 30 minutes. On Android, it can run in the background; on iPhone or iPad, keep it in the foreground and prevent the device from sleeping. If only particular tracks fail, play each one while online, then try it offline again.
First, make sure you’re using the app
Nintendo Music supports offline listening in its mobile app after you download music in advance. The web version does not support offline playback. If you’re using the web version, switch to the app, connect to the internet, and download the music before going offline. Nintendo’s offline FAQ explains this limitation.
Refresh downloads that have expired
Nintendo says downloaded tracks can expire after you have been offline for an extended period. Its support article lists code 9009-2201 for Android and 9010-2101 for iOS. Connect your device to the internet, open Nintendo Music, and leave the app running for around 30 minutes. These are Nintendo’s recovery instructions in an article updated September 2, 2026.

After the refresh, disconnect from the internet and try playing a downloaded track. Nintendo’s full instructions are in “I’m being shown support code 9009-2201 or 9010-2101.”

If only certain tracks won’t play
Reconnect to the internet and play each affected track in Nintendo Music. Then disconnect and try those same tracks offline. Nintendo recommends refreshing the affected tracks individually rather than repeating this step for music that already works.
If you’re on Android app version 1.7
Nintendo separately warns that some Android users may be unable to play downloaded tracks offline after updating to app version 1.7, even if they regularly connect to the internet. The stated recovery attempt is the Android procedure above: connect, open Nintendo Music, and leave it running for around 30 minutes. Nintendo’s support article does not give a separate fix for this version-related issue.

When to contact Nintendo Support
If the online refresh or affected-track step does not restore playback, contact Nintendo Music Support. Nintendo’s cited instructions do not recommend reinstalling the app, clearing its cache, changing storage, or buying hardware as fixes, so those steps should not be treated as established solutions.
