If your LG L227WTG will not turn on, first test the outlet and reseat the power cord. If its power light comes on and it displays “No Signal,” the monitor is on; the problem is more likely the video connection or computer than the monitor’s power supply. If known-good power connections produce no light, menu, or message, LG says the monitor likely has a hardware fault.

Check the power source and cord first

  1. Test the outlet or power strip. Plug in a lamp or phone charger. If it does not work, switch on the power strip, try a different strip, or connect the monitor directly to a known-good wall outlet. LG includes the outlet and power connection among its troubleshooting checks (LG monitor troubleshooting).
  2. Reseat the power cord. Unplug and firmly reconnect it at the wall or strip and at the monitor. If your setup uses a power adapter, check both ends of the adapter connection as well. The owner’s manual also begins power troubleshooting by asking whether the display’s power cord is connected (LG L227WT owner’s manual).
  3. Try a known-good compatible cord if needed. Match the connector and electrical rating; do not assume that a cord fits or is suitable based only on the monitor model name. If a different compatible cord restores operation, the original cord may be faulty.

Use the power light and on-screen menu to narrow the fault

No power light and no on-screen display

After checking a known-good outlet and reseating the cord, press the monitor’s control or menu button. If neither the LED nor the on-screen display (OSD) responds, LG says the monitor likely has a hardware fault and recommends contacting support or a technician. A failed power board is one possibility, but these symptoms do not identify a specific failed component.

Power light is on, but the screen says “No Signal”

That message means the monitor is on but is not receiving a video signal from the computer, according to LG’s troubleshooting guidance. Reconnect the display cable at the monitor and the computer’s graphics-card port, then restart the computer. If the OSD appears, the monitor is functioning at least well enough to display its menu; check the selected input, signal cable, and computer rather than treating “No Signal” as proof that the monitor is dead.

It shows “Power Saving Mode” or briefly displays a message, then goes dark

A brief “No Signal” or “Power Saving Mode” message with an LED response indicates that the monitor has powered on but is not receiving a usable video signal. Check the display cable and computer connection, and restart the computer. This symptom is different from having no LED or OSD at all.

When to stop troubleshooting and get service

If the outlet and cord checks do not help and the monitor produces no LED response, OSD, or other message, arrange service through LG or a qualified electronics technician. LG’s guidance says that when connections are secure but the on-screen menu still does not appear, the monitor likely has a hardware fault (LG monitor troubleshooting).

Do not open the case as a casual DIY repair. The manual warns that improper use may create electric-shock or fire hazards and says safeguards must be observed during servicing (LG L227WT owner’s manual). Technician-level schematic information associates the L227WTG with an AIP-0165 board and identifies components including the STR-W6252, OZ9938, and AOP605; that information does not establish that any one component is the cause of a particular failure. Internal diagnosis and testing should be left to someone qualified to work safely on electronics.

Repair or replace the monitor?

Start with the low-risk external checks: they can reveal a bad outlet, loose connection, or replaceable cord without opening the monitor. If those checks point to an internal fault, ask a repair provider for a diagnosis and estimate before authorizing work. The L227WTG is a 22-inch-class widescreen LCD model, and its owner’s manual lists 1680 × 1050 among its preset and recommended modes (LG L227WTG-PF.AUS support page; owner’s manual). Whether repair makes sense depends on the estimate, the monitor’s condition, and the cost and availability of a suitable replacement.

LG’s support page lists a one-year labor and one-year parts warranty for the L227WTG-PF.AUS. Because this is an older model, check with LG or the seller to confirm whether any coverage applies to your specific unit (LG L227WTG-PF.AUS support page).
