To find where a live match is legally shown in your country, start with the competition’s official website and its current “Where to Watch” or broadcast-partners page. Select the right competition, season or event, and territory, then confirm the specific fixture on the broadcaster’s own schedule. A rights-holder list is a starting point—not proof that a particular partner is showing that match live.
Find the right competition and season first
Identify the tournament that governs the fixture before searching for a channel. A club may play in a domestic league, a cup, and a continental competition, each with different broadcast rights. National-team qualifiers and finals can also have separate rights arrangements. A broadcaster’s coverage of one competition does not establish its rights to another.
Check the season or event dates as well as the competition name. Rights are sold for defined periods, and an old listing may no longer apply. For example, the Premier League’s 13 May 2025 announcement covers live audiovisual rights for 2025/26 through 2027/28, while UEFA maintains a page for the 2026/27 Champions League and a separate, event-specific page for the 2026 UEFA Super Cup.
Use the competition’s official broadcast page
On the competition organizer’s website, look for labels such as “Where to Watch,” “broadcast partners,” “TV and streaming,” or a media-rights announcement. These pages are usually organized by territory and can point you toward authorized broadcasters. For instance, UEFA publishes partner lists for individual competitions, while Concacaf’s Where to Watch hub asks visitors to select a tournament before viewing its broadcast information.

- Open the organizer’s official website. Avoid relying on an undated search result or a broadcaster list copied to another site.
- Choose the exact competition and period. Use the relevant season, tournament edition, or event page.
- Find the country or territory where you will watch. Rights are territory-specific; a provider listed for another country may not show the match where you are.
- Read the rights description. Check whether the entry covers live television, live streaming, or highlights only.
Check whether the listing means live coverage
Do not assume that every listed partner carries a match live. Some rights lists include partners with highlights-only rights. UEFA marks certain entries with an asterisk and explains that they are for highlights only; check the legend on the page rather than treating all entries as equivalent.
A territory may also have more than one listed partner. The competition’s page may identify the rights holders without assigning each fixture to a particular channel or service. Compare the providers’ own listings for the exact match and its coverage type.

Confirm the fixture on the broadcaster’s site or app
Once you have a likely authorized provider, search its country-specific schedule or match page for the teams and kickoff time. Confirm the channel or streaming option and review the provider’s stated access conditions. Competition pages identify partners, but they do not establish a universal rule about which service carries every match or who can access it.

- Does the provider list this exact fixture, rather than only the competition generally?
- Is the listing for live coverage, or for highlights or a replay?
- Does the provider show a TV channel, a streaming service, or both?
- What subscription, account, or other access conditions does the provider state?
If the match is absent, check the listing closer to kickoff or consult the provider’s help pages; do not infer availability from the competition’s broad partner list alone. If you are traveling or watching from outside the territory, check the provider’s terms for that location. The rights listings do not establish cross-border access or portability rules.

How to interpret official rights lists
| What the page tells you | What to verify next |
|---|---|
| A provider is listed for your country and competition. | Whether it carries this fixture live, and on which channel or service. |
| Several providers are listed for the same territory. | Which one has the match in its own schedule; partners may have different coverage. |
| An entry is marked highlights-only. | Look for a separate live-rights partner; highlights rights do not mean live match coverage. |
| A rights announcement gives a season or contract period. | Whether the match falls within that period and whether a newer event-specific page applies. |
Official pages worth knowing
- Premier League: Its rights announcement dated 13 May 2025 lists live audiovisual rights holders by territory for 2025/26–2027/28. It also describes different deal lengths for some entries, so it should be read as a dated announcement rather than a permanent directory.
- UEFA Champions League: UEFA’s 2026/27 partner page organizes broadcasters by territory and identifies some entries as highlights-only.
- UEFA Super Cup: The 2026 event page lists partners by territory, including highlights-only distinctions. A separate event page can be necessary even when the same organizer runs other competitions.
- Concacaf: Its broadcast-information hub directs viewers to select a tournament.
These examples reflect the pages’ stated seasons and events; they are not a complete directory for every sport or country. Recheck the organizer’s current page for an upcoming fixture.
