To find the official broadcaster for a cricket match abroad, start with the competition or organizing body’s official website, open its “Official Broadcasters,” “Broadcast Details” or “Where to Watch” page, and select the country where you will watch. Then confirm that the named channel or streaming service lists the exact match in its current local schedule. Cricket rights vary by event and territory, so a broadcaster for one tournament may not carry another.
How to check who is showing a cricket match in your country
- Identify the exact match. Note the competition or series as well as the teams and match date. An ICC tournament, a national board’s home series and a franchise league can have different rights holders.
- Choose your viewing country. Use the country where you will actually access the coverage, not the match’s host country or simply your home country. Rights are listed by territory.
- Open the organizer’s official broadcaster page. For an ICC event, use the ICC’s official broadcaster listing. For another competition or series, look for the relevant cricket board’s or competition’s official site and its broadcaster, broadcast-details or where-to-watch page.
- Read the entry for your territory. Note the named rights holder and the specific TV channel, website, app or audio service. A company name alone does not tell you which service carries the match.
- Confirm the exact fixture with the service. Check its local schedule or event guide for the match, local start time and whether coverage is live or delayed. For streaming, verify regional availability; ICC.tv directs viewers to find tournaments, series and matches available to stream “within your region” in its event guide.
- Check access and coverage details. Confirm whether the match is free or requires access, which commentary languages are offered, and whether the listing is for the full match, highlights, radio or another format.
- Check again near match time. Rights pages and schedules are event- and time-sensitive. Compare the organizer’s current listing with the broadcaster’s latest local schedule.
What an official listing can—and cannot—tell you
The ICC’s broadcaster page says: “The coverage plans of the tournament per territory are listed below, please check local listings for transmission/broadcast/radio timings.” In other words, the organizer’s page is the starting point for identifying authorized options, while the broadcaster’s own current listing helps confirm timing and practical availability.
A listing for a territory does not necessarily mean every service there carries every match in the same way. An event can have separate TV and digital partners, and access, language and audio options can vary by territory, platform and match. Check the exact fixture rather than assuming that an event-wide rights-holder name guarantees live video access through every service it operates.
Example: ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
The ICC’s listing for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup illustrates how rights differ by territory. For that tournament, it lists Sky Sports for the UK and Northern Ireland, Willow TV for the USA and Canada, and Prime Video for Australia. These are event-specific examples, not general cricket rights.

In an ICC announcement dated 5 February 2026, the organization also described Star Sports and JioHotstar coverage in India, Sky Sports and NOW in the UK and Ireland, and additional services in other territories. The same announcement described audio and radio options, including BBC radio in the UK and Ireland and ABC and SEN in Australia. Consult the ICC’s event announcement and the current listing for the match, since services and details in this example apply to that named tournament.
The ICC’s 2026 materials also show why checking the precise platform matters: they describe English and Hindi coverage through Willow for all 55 matches, free coverage of USA matches in the US and Canada, and language options that vary by territory and match category. The ICC reported Hindi for all games, Urdu for Pakistan games and Nepali for Nepal games on ICC.tv in more than 80 territories. These details concern the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup only; they do not establish availability for other tournaments.

How to compare multiple official options
If the organizer lists more than one service for your country, compare the actual match listings rather than choosing based only on brand name. The official pages may identify several platforms or formats, but they do not establish a particular service’s price or signup requirements for every viewer.
- Does the service list the exact match?
- Is the coverage live or delayed?
- Is it on a TV channel, app, website or audio service?
- Is it available in your viewing country, and what access conditions apply?
- What commentary languages are listed?
- Does it offer the full match, radio/audio, highlights or another format?
If you are travelling or using ICC.tv
When travelling, select the country where you will watch and check the rights and schedule for that territory. A service you use at home may not list the same match or provide the same coverage while you are abroad.

If a match does not appear, return to the organizer’s broadcaster listing for your territory and verify the named local service.
