For the quickest answer, open Nintendo’s US eShop “Best-selling games” page, or use Nintendo eShop on your Switch 2: choose Search/Browse, enter a keyword, select Search, then refine the results with Filter or the sorting menu. Open each product page to confirm that the listing is for Nintendo Switch 2 and the edition you want. Nintendo’s store page combines Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch titles, so it is not automatically a Switch 2-only ranking.
What Nintendo’s “best-selling” information actually measures
“Best-selling” can describe several different lists. Before comparing games, identify the storefront, system, time period and sales measure. A live eShop list, a regional monthly chart and Nintendo’s worldwide lifetime software table answer different questions.
| List type | What it tells you | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Nintendo US “Best-selling games” page | A live store presentation covering games for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. | The page does not state a ranking window, chart methodology or Switch 2-only filter. Its order can change. |
| Regional eShop chart | A storefront-specific popularity list. Nintendo UK describes its chart as the previous month’s most popular eShop games, updated regularly from Nintendo eShop sales data. | A current US ranking, a Switch 2-only ranking or an all-time sales table. |
| Nintendo investor-relations software table | Worldwide, life-to-date software units, including downloads and quantities bundled with hardware or other products. | Current eShop momentum, regional demand or eShop-only purchases. |
Keep those distinctions beside any number or rank you quote. A game can lead a worldwide lifetime table while another game is temporarily higher in your local eShop.
Fastest way to check Nintendo’s live store list
Use the official US “Best-selling games” page
- Open Nintendo’s US online store and navigate to the page titled Best-selling games.
- Read the live listing rather than relying on a copied order from an older article. The page covers Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch software together.
- Open a game’s product details and check the platform badge, edition name and release information. A title shown on the combined page may be a Nintendo Switch version, a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, or software playable on both systems.
- If you need a purchase decision, check the product page in your own account and region. Prices, availability, age ratings, language support and upgrade options can differ by storefront.
The page does not expose a fixed ordered list or explain a specific time window. Treat it as a live storefront view, not as a dated unit-sales report. If you copy a list for someone else, include the date you viewed it and the URL or page title so the reader knows that the order may have changed.

Find popular games directly on a Switch 2
Search and narrow the results
- From the HOME Menu, open Nintendo eShop and choose the user account that has access to the store.
- Select Search/Browse.
- Enter a title, series name, character or other keyword, then select Search.
- When the results appear, choose Filter or open the sorting-options dropdown. Nintendo Support describes these controls as the way to narrow results and limit what is shown.
- Open a result to view its product page. Confirm the platform, edition, publisher, release date, supported players and required storage before deciding that it is the Switch 2 game you meant.
Search is useful when you already know a franchise or genre, while the live best-selling page is a faster way to browse without a keyword. In either case, inspect more than the first tile. Search order and sales popularity are not necessarily the same thing.
The eShop’s sorting control helps organize search results; Nintendo’s support instructions do not say that every sorting option is a best-seller ranking. Do not label a result “number one in sales” merely because it appears first after sorting. If a filter offers a platform or edition choice, select the Switch 2 option explicitly rather than assuming that a compatible Switch title is a native Switch 2 release.
Check the edition before buying
Switch 2 software can appear in several forms. A product may be a native Nintendo Switch 2 release, a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of an existing Switch game, or the original Switch edition with optional access to enhanced features. Read the exact product title and platform information on the detail page. If the page offers separate versions, compare the included content and upgrade terms rather than assuming that “Switch” in the series name means the same product as “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.”
Record the complete title when you compare lists. “Pokémon Legends: Z-A” and “Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition,” for example, are not interchangeable labels for a sales table. The same caution applies to “Super Mario Party Jamboree” and its Switch 2 Edition. A combined franchise total may include more than one edition, whereas a storefront tile can represent only the product currently offered in that region.
Locate downloadable content
- Find the base game in Nintendo eShop.
- Open its product details.
- Scroll to the Downloadable Content section.
- Review each add-on’s compatibility and whether it requires the base game or a particular edition.
This is useful when a popular listing has multiple expansions or an edition-specific upgrade. A DLC listing is not a separate full game in a sales comparison unless the chart explicitly treats it that way. Check whether an add-on is sold separately or included in a bundle before comparing prices. The product page is the appropriate place to verify what your account can purchase; do not infer compatibility from the base game’s name alone.
Before you compare prices or popularity
Use the storefront connected to the user account that will make the purchase. Nintendo’s US page and a European chart can show different products, prices, release timing and availability. Even when the game name is identical, the edition, language support, age rating and upgrade offer can vary. There is no single universal eShop price or inventory status to quote without naming the region and date.
Make a small record for each candidate: exact title, platform badge, edition, listed price in your currency, date checked and whether the entry is a full game or DLC. This avoids comparing a discounted digital copy with a full-price edition, or a standalone game with a bundle. If you later share a recommendation, state that the price and availability were checked in your storefront rather than implying that every Switch 2 owner will see the same offer.

How to verify that a ranking applies to your question
Use four labels for every list you consult:
- Region/storefront: US, UK or another Nintendo eShop market.
- System and edition: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, or a combined listing; identify whether an entry is a Switch 2 Edition.
- Period: live listing, previous month, launch period or life-to-date.
- Measure: eShop sales data, store popularity or worldwide software units under Nintendo’s accounting rules.
If one of these labels is missing, describe the list cautiously instead of presenting it as a universal Switch 2 sales chart. A useful headline says “US live best-selling page” or “UK previous-month eShop chart,” not simply “the best-selling Switch 2 games.”
Using regional eShop charts without overreading them
Nintendo of Europe’s Nintendo eShop charts page is an example of a chart with an explicit scope: it says the list covers the previous month’s most popular eShop games and is updated regularly from Nintendo eShop sales data on Nintendo Switch. That wording identifies a region, a period and a system. It does not prove the current US order, and it does not establish a Switch 2-only chart.
When you use a regional chart, name the country or storefront, the system stated on the page and the month covered. A previous-month chart is useful for spotting sustained demand in that market, but it is not a real-time display. It may also include Nintendo Switch software rather than separating Switch 2 Editions. Never merge its positions with the US live page or with worldwide unit totals into one numbered ranking.

What Nintendo’s worldwide lifetime figures show
Nintendo’s investor-relations table is current through June 30, 2026. Nintendo states: “The numbers shown above are worldwide consolidated sales in units life-to-date.” The accounting includes downloads and quantities bundled with hardware or other products, so these are not eShop-only purchases and not a live popularity ranking.

|---|---|---|
| Mario Kart World | 15.39 million | Nintendo Co., Ltd. figure as of June 30, 2026; worldwide consolidated life-to-date units. |
| Donkey Kong Bananza | 4.78 million | Same worldwide, life-to-date scope and June 30, 2026 cutoff. |
| Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | 3.99 million | Switch 2 Edition figure under Nintendo’s table; Nintendo says combined sales with the Nintendo Switch version reach 13.09 million. |
| Pokémon Pokopia | 3.68 million | Worldwide life-to-date figure as of June 30, 2026; Nintendo notes that it includes units sold outside Japan where Nintendo is the publisher. |
| Kirby Air Riders | 1.90 million | Worldwide consolidated life-to-date units as of June 30, 2026. |
| Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition | 1.15 million | Switch 2 Edition figure; Nintendo says combined sales with the Switch edition reach 11.52 million. |
Each number must retain both its date and scope. For example, Mario Kart World’s 15.39 million means worldwide consolidated units accumulated through June 30, 2026. It does not mean 15.39 million US eShop downloads, nor does it reveal how many copies sold in the most recent month.
Nintendo also explains a platform-accounting distinction for Switch 2 Edition software: packaged versions are counted under Switch 2 software, while downloadable versions are counted under Switch software. That rule is another reason not to convert the table into a simple “Switch 2 eShop” leaderboard. A Switch 2 Edition’s line in the table can therefore sit beside a combined Switch-and-Switch 2 statement without representing identical products or channels.
Why a lifetime leader may not be today’s eShop leader
- Different clocks: life-to-date totals accumulate from launch, while a live store list can reflect recent purchasing activity.
- Different places: worldwide totals combine markets; your eShop shows your selected region.
- Different products: a lifetime figure may combine editions or include bundled copies, while an eShop page may list one digital edition.
- Different channels: Nintendo’s table includes downloads and bundled quantities, not only purchases made through the eShop.
For example, Mario Kart World’s 15.39 million units make it the largest figure among the listed Switch 2 titles under Nintendo’s June 30, 2026 accounting scope. That fact does not prove that it is first in the US eShop today. Conversely, a game appearing near the top of a live US page does not have to exceed Mario Kart World’s worldwide lifetime total.

A reliable workflow for choosing a game
When you want a current local signal
- Open Nintendo eShop on the Switch 2 connected to your purchasing region.
- Use Search/Browse and a keyword for the series or genre you want.
- Apply filters and sorting to reduce the results.
- Inspect several product pages, not just the first result.
- Record the date, region, platform and edition if you are comparing the list later.
When you want the broadest official sales evidence
- Consult Nintendo’s investor-relations title-sales table.
- Copy the stated cutoff date and the worldwide life-to-date qualification with every figure.
- Check whether Nintendo reports a Switch 2 Edition separately from a combined Switch-and-Switch 2 total.
- Do not present the result as eShop-only or as a current regional ranking.
When comparing two lists
Put the four comparison labels in the heading or table: region, system/edition, period and measure. A comparison that omits any one of them can make unlike numbers appear directly comparable. If two entries still seem inconsistent, check whether one includes bundled hardware copies or a different edition before concluding that Nintendo’s pages conflict.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
Mistake: treating the US page as Switch 2-only
Correction: the US “Best-selling games” page covers both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Verify the platform and edition on each product page.
Mistake: copying an old ranking as if it were current
Correction: open the live page on the day you need the information and state that the ordering is dynamic. The page does not provide a fixed ranking window.
Mistake: calling worldwide units eShop sales
Correction: use “worldwide consolidated life-to-date units” and retain the June 30, 2026 cutoff. Mention that downloads and bundled quantities are included.
Mistake: using a UK monthly chart as a US answer
Correction: identify the chart’s region, system and previous-month period. Use it to illustrate regional chart methodology, not to claim a US or Switch 2 ranking.

Correction: open the base game’s details and inspect the Downloadable Content section. Check compatibility and edition requirements before comparing prices or popularity.
Mistake: comparing a bundle with a standalone listing
Correction: read the contents and edition name on the product page. A bundle can contain the base game and add-ons, while a chart tile may represent only the base software.

A useful citation or note should include the exact page title, storefront region, date checked, system and edition, and whether the figure comes from eShop sales data or Nintendo’s worldwide lifetime accounting. Add the title exactly as Nintendo displays it, especially when “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” is part of the name. This small audit trail lets another Switch 2 owner reproduce the search and understand why two apparently different rankings may both be accurate.

FAQ
How do I find the best-selling Nintendo Switch 2 games in the eShop?
Open Nintendo’s US “Best-selling games” page for a live storefront view, or open Nintendo eShop on Switch 2, choose Search/Browse, search for a keyword and refine the results with Filter or the sorting dropdown. Check every product page for the Switch 2 platform and edition.
Is Nintendo’s US best-selling page Switch 2-only?
No. Nintendo describes the page as covering games for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Use the platform badge and edition name on the individual product page to identify the exact software.
Does the eShop sorting menu show the best-selling games?
It organizes and narrows search results. Nintendo Support does not state that every sorting option is a best-seller ranking, so do not treat the first sorted result as a verified sales leader unless the page labels it that way.

What is the difference between a regional eShop chart and Nintendo’s sales table?
A regional chart can describe a previous month’s eShop popularity for a named storefront and system. Nintendo’s investor-relations table reports worldwide consolidated life-to-date units, including downloads and bundled quantities. Neither should be substituted for the other.

- A variety of playable characters are available, some with unique attributes that affect gameplay and platforming physics.
- Younger and less-experienced players will love playing as Toadette, who is brand new to both games, and Nabbit, who was formerly only playable in New Super Luigi U. Both characters offer extra assistance during play.
- Multiplayer sessions are even more fun, frantic, and exciting thanks to entertaining character interactions. Need a boost? Try jumping off a teammate’s head or getting a teammate to throw you.
- Features a wealth of help features, like a Hints gallery, reference videos, and a Super Guide in New Super Mario Bros. U that can complete levels for you if they’re giving you trouble.
- Three additional modes—Boost Rush, Challenges, and Coin Battle—mix up gameplay and add replayability, while also upping the difficulty for players who want to try something harder. Players can use their Mii characters in these modes.
What does Mario Kart World’s 15.39 million figure mean?
It is Nintendo Co., Ltd.’s worldwide consolidated life-to-date total as of June 30, 2026. It includes the accounting categories Nintendo specifies and is not an eShop-only count or proof of the current US ranking.
Are Switch 2 Edition sales counted separately?
Nintendo reports some Switch 2 Edition figures separately and may also state a combined total with the Nintendo Switch version. Nintendo says packaged versions count under Switch 2 software, while downloadable versions count under Switch software, so the table is not a simple digital Switch 2 leaderboard.
How do I find a game’s DLC?
Open the base game’s product details in Nintendo eShop and scroll to Downloadable Content. Check the add-on’s compatibility and edition requirements, and do not count it as a separate full game unless the chart explicitly does so.
Why do prices or availability differ from what someone else sees?
Nintendo’s storefront is regional. Prices, availability, age ratings, languages and upgrade options can differ by account and market. Check the product page in the account and region that will make the purchase.
Bottom line
Use Nintendo’s live US “Best-selling games” page or the Switch 2 eShop’s Search/Browse tools to find current candidates, then verify the platform, edition and DLC on each product page. Keep regional monthly charts separate from Nintendo’s worldwide life-to-date totals, and attach the region, date, system and sales measure to every ranking you share.
