On iPhone, open the Apple TV app, tap Home, then scroll to Sports to browse live and scheduled events. Select an event to see its details and available ways to watch. The app also lets you find sport-specific schedules, add events to your Watchlist, and—on supported versions—follow teams. What you can watch depends on the event, your location, and whether it requires Apple TV or another subscription.
Browse sports and events on iPhone

Open the Apple TV app and tap Home.

Scroll down to Sports. Swipe through featured events or browse the category rows.

Select an event to open its details page and review the available viewing options.

Apple’s iPhone sports guide documents this path. The layout and labels can differ across devices, regions, and app versions.

Watch a live event or find its schedule
Start a live event
Open an event that is in progress and choose Watch Live. In the documented iPhone flow, Start Over is also available when you want to begin from the start. If the event needs a service you do not have, its page may show Open In and instructions for accessing that service.
Find a sport’s schedule
Search in the Apple TV app for a sport or competition, such as Friday Night Baseball, MLS, or Formula 1, then select its channel to see live events and schedules when the sport is in season. After an event, its page may offer a recap or full replay. The options depend on the sport and what is available in your region. Apple describes these discovery options in its guide to watching selected sports in the Apple TV app.
Save an event or follow a team
Add an event to your Watchlist
Add an event to your Watchlist from its page to make it easier to find later. Apple says a sports event appears in Continue Watching when it is live. The exact controls may vary by device.

Follow teams on supported TV app versions
On supported versions of the Apple TV app for a TV or living-room device, open the sidebar, choose Settings, then Manage My Sports, and select teams to follow. Their live games can appear in Continue Watching. The settings also include Show Sports Scores. See Apple’s sports guide for Apple TV for device-specific instructions.
Check whether you can watch the event
Finding an event in the app does not necessarily mean it is included with Apple TV. Apple says selected live Friday Night Baseball, MLS, and Formula 1 events are available with an Apple TV subscription in supported locations. Other listings may require a separate third-party service, or may offer rental or purchase options. Check the event page for its specific access requirements before game time. Apple explains the selected sports and service limits in its availability guide.

Regional availability: Sports rights, events, and app features vary by country or region. Check the event page and Apple’s local availability information for the event you want.

Device and software: Keep the app or device software current and sign in with the Apple Account associated with your subscription. Some sports features have specific requirements: Apple’s guide lists Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD with tvOS 16.2 or later for MLS, and tvOS 26.2 or later for Formula 1. These are requirements for those features, not for using the Apple TV app generally.
Choose a device you already have
You do not necessarily need an Apple TV streaming box. Apple lists support for the app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K and HD, Vision Pro, Windows PCs, Android mobile devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, and cable set-top boxes. Web viewing is available at tv.apple.com/sports. Device support and individual sports features vary, so check Apple’s device and access information for your setup.

For an Apple TV 4K or HD, Apple’s device guide describes browsing from Home or sport-specific destinations such as MLS and Formula 1 where available. A particular model or software version may be needed for a specific feature; that does not make the box a general requirement for finding sports in the app.
If a game is missing

Search by the sport or competition name, then open its channel to look for live and scheduled events.

Check the event page for a separate app or subscription requirement; the listing may not be included with Apple TV.

Confirm the event is available in your country or region and that your app or device software is current.

If you saved the event, check Continue Watching when it goes live. On supported TV versions, following the team can also help surface its live games.
