Start with NASA’s Launch Schedule for a broad official listing, then open the launch provider’s mission page for mission-specific details. Before sharing a date or time, check the schedule’s status wording and timezone. If plans change, look for fresh updates from the mission page and the responsible launch range; schedules and operational notices can change, so check again near launch.
Where to check an upcoming launch
Start with an official schedule
NASA’s Launch Schedule is a useful starting point for upcoming events across missions. It includes a timezone selector and status labels such as “No Earlier Than” and “Under Review.” Use the schedule to find a mission and its current listed timing, not as a guarantee of a fixed countdown.
Open the mission provider’s page
For mission-specific information, check the launch provider’s own page. SpaceX Launches, for example, lets visitors filter by mission, vehicle, launch site, return site, and launch date. For another provider, look for its official mission page rather than assuming a broad agency calendar has every operational detail.
Use schedules specific to a mission category or launch site
NASA’s SSDS Launch Schedule covers small-spacecraft launch information and distinguishes anticipated launches from completed missions. NASA’s Wallops Launch Schedule is relevant to launches associated with Wallops; it separates schedule material from launch updates and directs readers to range-operation announcements for non-NASA missions at that range.

How to tell whether a launch date is firm
Read the status next to the date, not just the date itself. NASA’s broad schedule uses “No Earlier Than” and “Under Review.” Those labels qualify the timing: they do not amount to a promise that launch will occur at the displayed time. The SSDS schedule also separates anticipated launches from completed ones, so do not treat an anticipated entry as a record of a launch that has already happened.
If two official pages differ, compare what each page is responsible for before deciding one is wrong. A broad schedule, a provider’s mission record, a range notice, and a regulatory statement can have different scopes and update for different reasons. Check the publisher, how specific and recent the entry is, its exact status wording, and whether it describes a target date or an operational notice.

Check the timezone before converting or sharing a time
NASA’s Launch Schedule provides a timezone selector. Confirm which timezone is displayed before converting the time for your location or sharing it with someone else. Preserve the timezone when you pass the information along; a bare clock time can be misleading if readers assume a different zone.
Where to look when plans change
Check mission-specific updates
Return to the launch provider’s mission page or the responsible agency’s mission information for changes tied to that flight. A broad calendar can help you spot a changed target, but the mission-specific page is the better place to verify information about a particular launch.

- SMARTPHONE-POWERED SKY TOUR: No experience needed! Just dock your phone, launch the StarSense Explorer app, and follow the on-screen arrows to locate stars, planets, nebulae, and more.
- PATENTED STARSENSE TECHNOLOGY: Unlike other astronomy apps, StarSense Explorer uses sky recognition technology to turn your phone into a celestial navigation system, analyzing star patterns overhead to pinpoint your telescope’s position.
- TONIGHT’S BEST TARGETS, INSTANTLY: The app generates a curated list of the top objects to see based on your time and location. See planets, bright nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters from the city—and even more from dark skies.
- SIMPLE SETUP, SMOOTH TRACKING: Features a manual altazimuth mount with altitude slow motion adjustment with a sliding rod. Follow the on-screen arrows to your target; when the bullseye turns green, you can view it clearly through the eyepiece.
- 114MM REFLECTOR WITH IMPRESSIVE VIEWS: The 4.5" Newtonian reflector with high-reflectivity coatings delivers sharp, vivid views of the Moon, planets like Jupiter and Saturn, and deep-sky favorites like the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy.
Check the launch range’s announcements
For local range operations, use the relevant range’s official notices. NASA’s Wallops page distinguishes its schedule from launch updates and points to range-operation announcements for non-NASA missions at Wallops. This is a separate information path from the provider’s mission record, and can be useful when the question concerns activity at the launch site.
Use FAA statements for matters within the FAA’s remit
The FAA’s General Statements page provides official statements on launch-related regulatory and operational matters. It is not a general mission calendar, so use it for applicable FAA context rather than as a replacement for a provider’s schedule or mission page.
