To find internet providers at your address—including alternatives to Spectrum—search your full service address on the FCC National Broadband Map. It lists providers reporting service at that location, connection types, and maximum advertised download and upload speeds. Treat those results as a shortlist: confirm service and current plan terms with each provider before choosing.

How to look up internet providers at your address

  1. Search your service address. Open the FCC National Broadband Map and enter the full street address. If it does not appear, try the map’s location search or search by town and state, then select the correct point. The FCC’s map guide explains address and location searches.
  2. Review the providers and reported services. Select the location to see providers, reported connection technologies, and maximum advertised download and upload speeds. Use the fixed broadband filters to inspect fiber, cable, DSL, satellite, and fixed wireless options.
  3. Contact each candidate. Ask whether it serves your exact address, unit, or building, then verify available plans and their current terms. The FCC map reflects provider submissions and is not a final serviceability or purchasing confirmation.

What the FCC map can—and cannot—tell you

The map supports a location-level check of provider-reported fixed broadband availability. Providers report service location by location twice a year, and the FCC says the map can also change through verification, provider updates, location-data updates, and public information. See the FCC’s overview of what is on the map.

Its speed figures are maximum advertised speeds reported by providers, not a promise of the speeds you will receive. The FCC states: “The National Broadband Map shows internet availability, not network performance, affordability, or adoption.” Check the FCC challenge guide for details.

A citywide or ZIP-code provider list is not enough to establish that a company serves your home. Availability may differ between nearby locations, including units in the same building. No address was provided here, so it is not possible to identify which alternatives to Spectrum are available to you or rank them.

How to compare alternatives to Spectrum

Compare only providers that confirm service at your exact address. The FCC map can help identify reported technologies and maximum advertised speeds; ask providers directly about current plans and terms.

What to compare What to verify
Connection type Whether the service is fiber, cable, DSL, fixed wireless, or satellite, and whether that connection suits your household.
Speed Current offered download and upload tiers. Ask what speeds are available at your address; map maximums are not actual-performance guarantees.
Total cost Introductory price and how long it lasts, ongoing monthly price, and any fees.
Equipment and installation Equipment charges, installation costs, and any required hardware.
Plan conditions Data limits, if any, and contract or cancellation terms.
Household needs Whether the service’s expected latency and reliability meet your needs, especially for activities that depend on a stable connection.

Ask the provider to confirm the complete cost and terms for the specific plan before signing up. Do not assume that a map listing establishes affordability, performance, or a particular plan’s availability.

What to do if the map appears wrong

If a provider listed for your location says it cannot serve you, or its reported technology or maximum advertised speed appears inaccurate, you can submit an availability challenge through the FCC map. Keep a record of the provider’s response and include supporting information with your challenge. The FCC sends fixed availability challenges to the provider for a response; the FCC may decide disputes that remain unresolved. The FCC’s challenge instructions explain the process.

An availability challenge concerns whether service is reported as available, the technology, or the maximum advertised speed—not the speed you actually experience as a subscriber. For an actual service or speed problem, consult the FCC’s consumer complaint route described in its challenge guide.

What national availability statistics mean

The FCC’s 2026 fact sheet, based on availability data as of June 2025, reported that approximately 96% of broadband serviceable locations had at least one provider reporting terrestrial fixed broadband service of at least 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload. That national figure does not identify a provider for any particular address.
