Act 2 is reported to contain 35 collectibles: five in “Bravo Squad,” 27 in “Hold the Line,” two in “No Gear Left Behind,” none in “The Pilots,” and one in “Overwhelmed.” The largest search is “Hold the Line,” a semi-open area. Use the War Journal to check your count as you go; the available English walkthrough has detailed directions for only part of the Act, so this guide identifies where its route is precise and where it is not.
Act 2 collectible count by chapter
| Chapter | Reported collectibles |
|---|---|
| “Bravo Squad” | 5 |
| “Hold the Line” | 27 |
| “No Gear Left Behind” | 2 |
| “The Pilots” | 0 |
| “Overwhelmed” | 1 |
| Act 2 total | 35 |
The counts and chapter distribution are reported by Jeux.ca’s Act 2 guide. In “Hold the Line,” search by district and check optional-objective areas instead of following only the main path.

Chapter 1: “Bravo Squad” — all five locations
The five “Bravo Squad” locations below have specific landmark directions in FPSHUB’s Act 2 walkthrough.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- COG Helmet With Bullet Hole: At the start of Act 2, continue to the end of the street, turn left, and go behind the ruined bus.
- Sniper Goggles: After the bridge fight, enter the first control room. Search the left-hand side at the far end, beside a dead Locust.
- Bridge Worker’s Lunch Kit: Just before the control room, descend the ladder to the gantry beneath the bridge. Turn left rather than continuing forward; look by the police-line barriers.
- Thrashball RUSH Magazine: In the East Control Room, check the small metal caddy at the end opposite the entrance. Milk and coffee are beside it.
- Medic’s First Aid Kit: After the final bridge fight, reach the lower level and look left, behind the station wagon and in front of the COG truck.
Chapter 2: “Hold the Line” — 27 reported locations
This is the Act’s main collectible search area. FPSHUB labels its walkthrough a work in progress; it provides precise directions for the following 15 items, but not a complete, verified route to all 27. The broader list below is useful for names and general landmarks, not as a substitute for an exact route. Check the War Journal count before leaving an area.
#1 Best Overall
- AN ORIGIN STORY BEGINS — Fight alongside Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in the gripping origin story of Emergence Day, as the Locust Horde erupts from below.
- A DARKER, GRITTIER THREAT — Face reimagined enemies and a terrifying underground invasion that restores the fear, dread, and intensity at the heart of the Gears of War series.
- MULTIPLAYER EVOLVED — Battle in Horde Siege for large‑scale PvE action or prove your skill in refined Versus PvP with greater precision and competitive depth.
- CLASSIC COMBAT, MODERNIZED — Experience signature cover‑based gameplay enhanced with updated movement, traversal, and controls that feel like Gears while playing like something new.
- CO‑OP YOUR WAY — Play online with up to four players across Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus, or team up locally with 2‑player split‑screen co‑op on console.
Items with specific directions
- Cinema Filmatica Magazine: Shortly after leaving camp, enter Iron Coast Motors through the main entrance. Before starting its side objective, go left into the back room, then right to the counter.
- A Letter Home: During the Trapped Family side objective near Last Dollar, clear the enemies and open the garage. Go through it, then turn right at the corridor.
- Thrashies Cereal Box: After helping the Gears in Timgad Prime, go inside and check the counter on the left.
- Kalona Postcard: On leaving the station, turn right down the steps. Pass the pawnbroker and continue into the plaza; check below the far side of a stone bench.
- Foreman’s Datapad: Enter the construction site southwest of the station exit. In the main room, go to the back-left side (assuming you entered from the east), turn right into the alcove, and search by the foreman’s body.
- Vandalized Salvaging Poster: Inside Major Burger, in the restroom.
- Emgazi Blitz Display Case: In the northeastern apartment building where a Locust fires from a window, reach the third floor and clear the Drone in the open apartment. Check a bedroom desk.
- COG Tags of Private Liz Waxman: In the same apartment building, return to floor two and jump through the window onto the scaffolding. Look left by Waxman’s body.
- Birthday Card With Toy Lancer: Near the Bank of Tyrus and collapsed bridge, drop to the walkway and check beside a bench on its eastern side.
- Timgad Refinery Recruitment Poster: Beyond the east bridge, enter the building beside the large hotel sign. The poster is on the right wall by the elevator.
- Tales From the Tyran Night Story Book: Find the apartment with a “help” sign in the middle of the map. Reach it via the exterior scaffolding; the book is on a table in the main room to the left.
- COG Tags of Specialist Jada Clemmons: Inside Grind Coffee, behind the counter.
- Kalona Metro Fare Notice: Descend into the metro south of Grind Coffee. Take the notice from the wall opposite the turnstiles.
- COG Tags of Master Sergeant Mark Avamor: Search a loading bay south of the Bank of Tyrus. Watch for a Locust sniper above.
- Re: Vibration Complaints: In the Warehouse District, enter the building with the “live music” sign opposite Amberstone Storage Company. The note hangs on a door.
Other items named in the chapter list
Jeux.ca also names these 12 collectibles, but its descriptions provide only broad landmarks rather than precise, step-by-step directions:
- Major Burger Box
- COG Tags of Specialist Brendan O’Connell
- Caricature of Colonel Elias Trench
- COG Tags of Specialist Arnold Imhatip
- Photo and Harmonica from Mags’s Apartment
- War Bond Savings Certificate
- Pendulum Wars Victory Flag
- Child’s Monster Drawings
- Vacation Photos
- Rally Point Instructions
- COG Tags of Sergeant Elijah Adams
- Portrait of President Tomas Dalyell
The guide places these around the lost-squad objective, bridge, hotel, bank, an apartment cutscene, and optional sniper defense. Those clues do not establish each exact position; use the in-game collectible marker and War Journal rather than treating them as a complete route.
Rank #2
- PREMIUM EDITION — Includes Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, five Seasonal Customization Packs starting with the Emergence Pack, plus 1,000 Iron to unlock additional in‑game content.
Chapters 3–5: the remaining three
- “No Gear Left Behind” — COG Tags of Sal Harkniss and COG Tags of Siv Strickland: Jeux.ca places both at the same location just after a cutscene. Its listing does not give a more precise landmark.
- “The Pilots”: No collectibles are listed for this chapter.
- “Overwhelmed” — Point Fairlight Hangar Datapad: Jeux.ca places it in the hangar on the left before you continue the mission.
Track your progress in-game
Jeux.ca reports that approaching a nearby collectible in “Hold the Line” reveals a map marker. It also describes an audible COG cue, a brief controller vibration and visual alert, and act-by-act progress in the War Journal. Use those cues as checks rather than assuming that a cleared objective means every collectible nearby has been found.
- Explore the district and optional-objective spaces before pushing onward.
- When the nearby-item cue or map marker appears, search the immediate area and interact with the collectible.
- Open the War Journal and compare your chapter progress against the reported count for that chapter.
- If the count is short, revisit overlooked side areas before moving on; the semi-open “Hold the Line” chapter accounts for most of Act 2’s total.
Does Act 2 completion unlock the campaign collectible achievement?
No. Xbox Wire’s achievement list describes “Memories From E-Day” as requiring all collectibles in the campaign on any difficulty. Finding all 35 items in Act 2 is not, by itself, the campaign-wide condition.
Rank #3
- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
Jeux.ca says missed items can be recovered by replaying a chapter. That is the guide’s claim; the Xbox Wire achievement description does not specify chapter replay behavior.
