Open My Files on your Samsung Galaxy and tap Downloads. To find a particular item, tap Search and enter its name. If it is not there, check other folders or the app that downloaded it—some offline movies and music stay inside that app rather than appearing as regular files.
Open Downloads in My Files
- Open My Files from your home screen or app drawer. If you cannot find it, search your apps for “My Files.”
- Tap Downloads to browse downloaded files. Samsung’s instructions are available in its guide to finding downloaded files.
For a specific item, tap the Search icon in My Files and type the file name. Tap a matching result to open it; Samsung explains this search option in its downloaded-files help.
Find a download that is missing
Check the notification panel
If the download just finished, pull down the notification panel and look for its completion notification. Tap it to open the file. A notification may no longer be available after it is dismissed.

Not every app saves downloads in the Downloads folder. In My Files, check other categories and folders, including locations associated with the app you used. If your Galaxy supports an SD card and one is installed, check that storage location too. Samsung describes these alternate places in its download-location guidance.

Open the app that downloaded offline media

If the download never appeared
If a browser download did not start or finish, check that the phone has an internet connection and enough available storage, and confirm that the site allows the file to be downloaded. Samsung also recommends downloading only from trusted websites; see its download help.
