In Google Ads on a computer, open Billing from the account menu. Use Billing Activity to review charges, payments, credits, and other account transactions; open Settings to manage payment methods and payer details. In the Google Ads mobile app, tap More in the bottom navigation, choose Billing, then open Transactions.
The labels and available controls can differ by country, currency, payment profile, billing arrangement, account eligibility, and your user permissions. Use the options displayed in the specific account you are signed in to.
Find billing information in Google Ads on a computer
Sign in to the Google Ads account whose charges you need to inspect. Billing is configured per account, so being signed in to a manager account or a different client account can show a different payment profile, balance, and transaction list.

- Use the sections inside Billing to choose the record or setting you need. The main areas are Billing Activity, Settings, payment methods, and billing-profile information.
Google Ads Help describes this area as the place where you can “view your transaction history, settings, payment methods, and billing profile information.” The wording appears in its Know your billing options guidance, while the live interface may be rearranged as Google updates it.

View payment activity with Billing Activity
- Open Billing.
- Choose Billing Activity, or open the activity or transactions view presented within Billing.
- Review the date, transaction type, amount, status, and any available invoice, receipt, credit, adjustment, or payment details.
Billing Activity is an account-level financial record. It answers questions such as when Google charged the account, when a payment was received, whether an adjustment was posted, and how the account balance changed. If the page uses a slightly different label, look for the activity or transaction-history view inside Billing rather than changing account settings.
Open billing settings
- Open Billing from the account menu.
- Select Settings in the Billing menu.
- Open Payment methods to inspect or manage the card, bank account, or other instrument available to the account.
- Open Payer details to review editable payer information and the payment profile associated with the account.
Payment methods are the instruments used to pay. A billing setting describes the arrangement under which money is added or collected, such as paying before advertising spend, automatic charging after spend, or invoicing. Keeping those concepts separate makes it easier to diagnose a charge or a missing control.
Find billing and transactions in the Google Ads mobile app
The mobile app uses a shorter navigation path than the desktop interface.
- Tap More in the bottom navigation.
- Tap Billing. The account balance appears at the top of the Billing screen.
- Tap Transactions at the top of the screen to view transaction history.
- To inspect payment methods or other billing controls, open Settings within Billing.
If you manage several accounts, verify the account name before interpreting the balance or transaction list. The app can expose fewer controls than the desktop site, and an option that is unavailable for the account will not necessarily appear as a disabled button.

What each billing area tells you
Billing Activity and Transactions
These views show historical account-level events: advertising costs, payments, credits, refunds or adjustments when applicable, and changes to the amount owed or available. They are the right place to reconcile a bank or card statement with Google Ads records. A transaction record does not by itself change how future charges will be collected.
Payment methods
Payment methods list the instruments that can be used for the account’s billing arrangement. A card or bank account number that changes must be entered as a new payment method; Google does not turn an existing saved number into a different number. After the replacement is accepted, the old method can be removed if the account no longer needs it.
Payer details
Payer details contain the editable billing-profile information used for the payer, such as the legal or business information associated with billing. Some payment-profile permissions are administered through Google Payments rather than the campaign interface. Changing a payer field can affect invoices or tax documentation, so check the displayed profile and account before saving.

Change or replace a payment method
Use the desktop Billing settings when you need to add a new card or bank account, replace an expiring instrument, or remove a method that should no longer be used.

- Sign in with an account that has the required billing or payments access.
- Open Billing, then Settings.
- Select Payment methods.
- Choose the control to add a payment method and enter the requested details.
- Save the new method and complete any verification that Google presents.
- If the replacement is now the method you want to retain, return to the payment-method list and remove the old method.
Removing a method can be blocked when it is the only usable method or when a balance, pending charge, or account rule requires another method to remain. Add and successfully save a replacement first, then try the removal again. If the account is on a billing arrangement that does not use a manually selected method, the available controls may be different.
Compare Google Ads billing arrangements
The account’s country, business address, currency, payment profile, eligibility, and account history determine which arrangements Google offers. The following comparison explains the timing of payment; it is not a promise that every account can select every option.

Payment methods and billing arrangements are related but not interchangeable. For example, two accounts may both use a card while having different charging schedules, and a prepay account may display a balance that is not an unpaid invoice.

Google does not show an identical menu to every advertiser. Check these conditions before assuming the account is malfunctioning:

- Country and business address: accepted instruments and billing arrangements vary by the location recorded for the business.
- Account currency: a method or arrangement may be unavailable for the currency already assigned to the account.
- Payment profile: the Google Payments profile connected to the Ads account can determine who may edit payer information and which methods are supported.
- Eligibility: monthly invoicing and some other arrangements require account or business approval.
- Temporary availability: Google can temporarily disable an option while it verifies information, resolves a payment issue, or changes its billing systems.
- User permissions: campaign access alone does not guarantee billing access. Administrative or Billing permissions may be required, and payment-profile actions can require separate Google Payments access.
Trust the choices displayed under the account’s own Billing > Settings area. Do not infer availability from another company’s account, a different country, or an older screenshot.
Permissions needed to view or edit billing
There are two permission layers to consider:
- Google Ads account access: an administrator or user with the appropriate Billing access can generally view activity and change account billing settings.
- Google Payments profile access: payer details and payment-profile membership may be controlled separately in Google Payments. A user who can manage campaigns may still be unable to edit legal payer information or remove a payment instrument.
If a control is absent, ask an account administrator to check your access level and the payment profile connected to the account. If you can see activity but cannot edit a method, that usually indicates an editing-permission or payment-profile issue rather than missing transaction data.

You cannot find Billing
Confirm that you are in the intended Google Ads account, not only at a manager-account overview. Open the account-level menu or gear icon and look for Billing. If it still does not appear, your user may lack billing access, or the account may be in a state where billing is managed through a linked payments profile.
Billing Activity is not visible
Open Billing and inspect the available activity or transaction-history tab; Google sometimes changes the exact placement or label. Set a suitable date range if filters are offered. A newly created account may have no completed transactions yet, while a payment that is still processing may not have a final status.

The balance does not match a bank statement
Compare the statement date with the Google Ads transaction date and include pending charges, credits, refunds, taxes, and currency conversion effects where applicable. A card authorization can appear before the corresponding finalized transaction. Also verify that the statement belongs to the same Ads account and payment profile.
You cannot remove an old card or bank account
Add and save the replacement method first. Then return to Billing > Settings > Payment methods and remove the old entry. If removal remains unavailable, check for a pending charge, an outstanding balance, an active billing requirement, or insufficient payments-profile permissions.
The mobile app does not show a control available on desktop
Use the desktop site for detailed settings and payer-profile administration. In the app, confirm the path More > Billing, then check Transactions and Billing Settings. The app may expose account balance and history while omitting a less frequently used administrative control.

A practical audit routine for an Ads account
Use this sequence when reconciling spend or preparing to change billing:
- Verify the account name, customer account, billing country, and currency.
- Open Billing Activity on desktop, or More > Billing > Transactions in the app.
- Check the date range and identify completed, pending, credited, or adjusted entries.
- Open Billing > Settings > Payment methods and confirm that the intended instrument is present and not expired.
- Review Payer details and the connected payments profile if an invoice, tax record, or legal business detail is incorrect.
- Confirm the billing arrangement—postpay, prepay, or monthly invoicing—before interpreting the displayed balance.
- If an expected action is missing, have an administrator verify Google Ads and Google Payments permissions before attempting to recreate the account or payment profile.
Desktop versus mobile: which should you use?

For a quick balance or recent transaction check, the mobile app is sufficient. For replacing a payment method, reviewing payer information, or diagnosing permissions, the desktop Billing settings provide the fuller control set.
