On most Samsung phones, open a text field to bring up Samsung Keyboard, then tap the Clipboard icon in the keyboard toolbar. Tap a saved item to paste it. From the same panel, you can pin or delete entries; the available controls and menu names vary by phone model and One UI version.
Where is the clipboard on a Samsung phone?
- Tap a text-entry field in an app, such as a message or note, to open Samsung Keyboard.
- Tap the Clipboard icon in the keyboard toolbar. If you do not see it, check the toolbar’s overflow menu or keyboard settings.
- Tap a clipboard entry to paste it into the active field.
To add something, select text or other content in an app and choose Copy (or Cut, if you want to remove it from its current location). Open the keyboard’s Clipboard panel to find the copied item. Samsung’s clipboard guide and Colombia troubleshooting guide describe these controls; exact layouts can differ.
What if the Clipboard icon does not appear?
The icon may be hidden from the keyboard toolbar rather than unavailable. With Samsung Keyboard open, look for the toolbar’s overflow menu and see whether Clipboard can be added. You can also check the toolbar options in Samsung Keyboard settings. Samsung’s Colombia guide explains enabling the toolbar and restoring icons. If your phone uses a different keyboard, the Samsung Keyboard instructions may not match its controls.

Pin an item to keep it available
Open the Clipboard panel and use the item’s pin control, if shown. Samsung Japan documents a limit of up to 20 pinned items, or up to 10 on Android 10 and earlier. These are limits in Samsung’s Japan support guide; available behavior may vary by software and device. Pinned entries are retained in the clipboard.

Delete an item
In the Clipboard panel, select the item and choose the delete option. Samsung says clipboard deletion cannot be undone. If the entry is a screenshot, deleting it from Clipboard does not delete the image saved in Gallery.
How do you control screenshots saved to Clipboard?
On Android 13 or later, Samsung documents a keyboard setting that controls whether screenshots are saved to Clipboard. A documented route is Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings; look for the screenshot-to-clipboard option. Menu labels and availability can vary by device. Turning the option on does not add screenshots captured while it was off. Samsung’s clipboard guide covers the setting and the separate Gallery copy.

Can you copy and paste between Galaxy devices?
Samsung supports clipboard sharing between some Galaxy devices, but it depends on compatibility and setup. Samsung’s US instructions say both devices need One UI 3.1 or later, the same Samsung account, the same Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth enabled, and Continue on other devices turned on. Samsung states: “This feature requires devices running One UI 3.1 or later.”

- On each device, check the One UI version and sign in to the same Samsung account.
- Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network and turn on Bluetooth.
- Go to Settings > Connected devices > Continue apps on other devices and enable the option, if available.
- Copy content on one device, then paste it on the other using its keyboard.
Samsung’s US sharing instructions document this setup. Model support, menu names, and regional availability can differ, so the feature may not appear on every Galaxy device.

What clipboard privacy controls are available?
Samsung’s One UI 4 feature overview describes an alert option for when an app accesses content copied in another app. Samsung’s current US Security and privacy guide also describes controls for clipboard access in the Privacy area and notes that not every feature is available on every device. Check your phone’s current privacy settings rather than assuming the same controls appear on every Galaxy model or software version.
