You can use official GTA 6 footage and preview reports to identify wildlife and choose broad areas to search, but there is no verified complete species list or official bestiary in the available sources. The evidence points to wetlands in Grassrivers, wildlife in Mount Kalaga, marine animals around the Leonida Keys, and domestic animals in developed areas. How do I find every animal in GTA 6?
As of October 7, 2026, there is not enough verified information to provide a reliable “every animal” route or checklist. Rockstar has not published a complete species roster or official animal compendium in the sources reviewed. The available catalogues are based on official footage analysis and secondary reporting, and some longer lists include animals without a clearly identified frame or derive from leaked development material. - Mount Kalaga: Treat the national-park environment as a promising place to look for deer and the depicted big cat. The region’s hunting and fishing descriptions do not establish that every animal or activity mechanic is present.
- Leonida Keys: Coastal and underwater scenes suggest marine wildlife, including sea turtles, fish, and an eel; dolphin footage is also reported.
- Vice City and developed areas: A secondary guide describes dogs, cats, and iguanas in urban settings, but reliable neighborhood-level spawn locations have not been established.

How do I identify animals in GTA 6?
Use a confidence-first approach: identify what the image clearly supports, and do not assign a precise species name when the evidence only shows a broader animal type. The catalogue notes that Rockstar has not supplied in-game species names. For example, the large cat has been called a panther, cougar, or mountain lion in secondary descriptions; “big cat” is the safer label until a primary source or the game itself resolves the name.

- Record the narrowest name the evidence supports. If details are unclear, log a broad category such as “big cat” rather than guessing a species.
- Mark the evidence source. Separate animals clearly visible in official footage from those identified only through close analysis or reported by trackers without a pinned frame.
- Recheck uncertain entries in the retail game. Pre-release imagery cannot establish the final in-game name, spawn behavior, or checklist rules.
Is there an animal checklist or compendium?
Preview coverage reports that players can study animals and add species to a checklist, and that dogs have interaction options. It does not establish that every animal can be studied, that every sighting counts, or what menu, button, or completion condition the final game uses. Treat the checklist as a reported feature, not a fully documented completion system.

When can a complete location guide be trusted?
Rockstar’s store currently lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a November 19, 2026 release date.
