To download an Apple Arcade game, open Apple Games or the App Store and choose Arcade on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. On Apple TV, open the Arcade app or App Store and choose Arcade. Select a game that’s available on your device, then tap or click Get or Download. You’ll need an Apple Arcade subscription or an Apple One subscription that includes Arcade if prompted.
Before you download
- Subscription: Apple requires an Apple Arcade subscription to download its games. Once subscribed, you can download available games without an additional game charge. Apple says Arcade games have no ads or in-app purchases. Apple One is another subscription option that includes Apple Arcade. Apple’s subscription and access details.
- Device compatibility: The catalog varies by hardware and software compatibility. Not every Arcade game is available on Mac or Apple TV 4K, so check the game listing on the device you intend to use.
- Region: Apple Arcade availability and features vary by country or region.
Find and download games on iPhone or iPad
- Open the Apple Games app and tap Arcade to browse the collection. You can also search for a particular game.
- Tap the game’s listing and choose the download option shown there.
- When the download finishes, open the game from its listing or find it in your Library. Use Continue Playing in Apple Games to resume a game you recently played.

Find and download games on Mac
- Open Apple Games or the App Store.
- Select Arcade to browse, or search for a game by name.
- Open a game’s listing and choose the download option.
Check the listing before downloading: not every Apple Arcade title is offered on Mac. Listings include details such as ratings and controller support. See Apple’s Mac gaming guide.
Find and download games on Apple TV
- On Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, open the Arcade app or the App Store and select Arcade.
- In the Arcade app, browse featured games and category rows, select See All Games to sort or filter, or use Search.
- Choose a game available for your Apple TV and select Get to download it.
Check the game page for its controller requirements before you start. Apple says most Apple Arcade games require a third-party Bluetooth game controller or another accessory sold separately, but requirements vary by game; the listing indicates whether a controller is optional or required. Play across devices and share access
Apple says game progress can be accessed on compatible devices signed in to the same Apple Account. On Apple TV, the Continue Playing row can also show games played on another device when you’re signed in to Game Center. Compatibility and the game’s own support still determine where you can continue.
Apple says Family Sharing can share an Apple Arcade or Apple One subscription with up to five other family members. Availability may vary by country or region; see Apple’s Apple Arcade subscription information for current access details.

What happens if you cancel Apple Arcade?
After cancellation, you can’t play Apple Arcade games, even if they remain downloaded on your device. Apple says resubscribing can restore access to gameplay data, though some data may not be supported after a long delay. Apple explains subscription access and cancellation.
