To claim a Fortnite Item Shop skin, open the shop in Fortnite or Epic’s official web Item Shop, sign in to the Epic account you want to use, and buy the outfit while it is available. There is no separate claim process for a regular shop skin: you complete the purchase at the displayed price. Check the item’s end date before buying, because a web listing can remain visible after it is no longer purchasable.
Find the skin in Fortnite or the official Webshop
Epic offers two supported ways to buy shop cosmetics: the in-game Item Shop and the online Item Shop. Use the account that should receive the cosmetic; signing into a different Epic account can put the purchase on the wrong account.

- In Fortnite: launch the game, open the Item Shop, and browse the currently listed outfits.
- On the web: visit the official Fortnite Item Shop and sign in to the Epic account you intend to use.
- Select the outfit, then check its displayed price and availability or end date before completing the purchase.
- Follow the shop’s purchase prompts and confirm the transaction using the payment method shown. Many cosmetics are priced in V-Bucks.
Epic says Support cannot sell a cosmetic separately by deducting V-Bucks. Buy through one of the two shop routes rather than relying on a third party to grant an item.
Check whether the skin is actually available
A skin shown on the web Item Shop is not necessarily still for sale. Epic notes that a listing may remain visible after its purchase availability has ended. Open the item’s description and check the end date; if it is no longer available, it cannot be purchased through that listing.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
The Item Shop rotates. If a skin has left the shop, check again later, but Epic does not promise when a particular cosmetic will return. Support cannot grant an offer that is not currently available in the shop.
When does the Item Shop refresh?
Epic says the in-game Item Shop and Webshop refresh at around 0:00 AM GMT. Because the stated time is approximate and local timing depends on timezone, use the shop’s “About Shop” panel for timezone details instead of assuming a fixed local hour. See Epic’s Item Shop refresh guidance.

Epic also says Battle Pass items released after August 7, 2024 may become available in the Shop at least 18 months after the relevant Pass expires, but this is not guaranteed. That limited policy does not establish a return date for every Item Shop skin.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

- Cancel Purchase: Epic describes a window of up to 24 hours after purchase, provided the cosmetic has not been used or equipped in any game mode.
- Return Ticket: If cancellation is no longer available, an eligible purchase made within the last 30 days may be returnable with a ticket. Accounts start with three tickets, receive one every 365 days, and can hold no more than three.
- Bundles and exclusions: Returning a bundle means returning the entire bundle. Epic lists exclusions including passes, gifted purchases, cosmetic bundles, and purchases in developer-made islands.
Start with Fortnite’s in-game Return or Cancel Purchase flow, or the return flow on the web Item Shop, and follow the current eligibility prompts. Purchases made with real money or through a third-party platform follow separate refund routes and policies. Read Epic’s current return and cancellation instructions before relying on a refund.
