If a match is unavailable on your usual service, check the competition’s official broadcaster directory for the country where you’ll be watching. Then confirm the exact fixture and whether it is live, delayed, or highlights-only on the listed broadcaster’s current schedule. Rights depend on both the event and your location, so no single streaming service is a reliable answer for every match worldwide.
How to find the authorized broadcaster for your match
- Identify the event. Note the competition, teams, match date, and the country where you will watch. Those details matter because rights are divided by territory and can vary by event.
- Open the competition organizer’s official “where to watch” or broadcast-partner page. Select your viewing country, not simply the country where a team or tournament is based. For example, the Premier League’s rights-holder list organizes coverage by country and region; UEFA’s Champions League directory lists broadcast partners and live streams by territory; and the ICC’s 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup page names local television and digital options.
- Check the broadcaster’s own schedule for the fixture. A service listed as a competition partner may not show every match live. Verify the specific teams and start time, and look for labels such as live, delayed, replay, or highlights.
- Confirm how you can watch. Check the provider’s current information for price, language or commentary, supported apps and devices, and any account or location conditions. The official rights listings identify providers, but they do not establish all of these terms.
- Ask the organizer or broadcaster if coverage is unclear. Use its official help or contact channel rather than an unofficial stream directory.
What official rights listings can—and can’t—tell you
Rights are specific to a territory and a period. The Premier League’s cited page covers the 2025/26–2027/28 rights period and lists, among other examples, Sky Sports and TNT Sports in the UK, Stan Sport in Australia, NBC Sports in the United States, and Fubo in Canada. These are examples for that stated period, not permanent recommendations; the page also notes that some territory deals run longer.
UEFA’s cited directory is for the 2026/27 Champions League and was last updated on 10 September 2026. It marks some entries as highlights-only, so a partner listing alone does not guarantee live access to a particular fixture. The ICC’s page for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup lists options such as Prime Video in Australia, Sky Sports in the UK and Northern Ireland, Willow TV in the US and Canada, and ICC.tv for the rest of the world. It asks viewers to check local listings for transmission, broadcast, or radio timings.

These examples show why the organizer’s page is a starting point, not the final confirmation. Check the current listing for the competition and then the broadcaster’s schedule for the actual match. Rights and schedules can change between seasons and tournaments.

How to compare legitimate viewing options
Compare only services that are confirmed for the same match in your country. A useful comparison includes:
- Coverage: live match, delayed broadcast, replay, or highlights.
- Cost: subscription or one-off access, as stated by the service. The official rights directories cited here do not establish current prices.
- Presentation: available language and commentary options.
- Access: supported devices, apps, websites, and any account or location conditions shown by the provider.
Check traditional television as well as authorized websites and apps when the official directory lists them. A digital football platform or partnership announcement is not proof that a particular event is available in your location: for instance, FIFA’s June 2025 announcement describes a partnership involving football content on DAZN, including live matches and archive material, but does not establish coverage of a specific match in every country.

Why a match may be missing from your usual service
A service can be unavailable for a particular match because rights are sold by territory, because another broadcaster holds the rights in your country, or because the service offers only selected fixtures or highlights. A competition-level listing does not settle what is available for an individual match; the broadcaster’s current schedule is the decisive check.

Where to watch a match in your country
For a targeted answer, search using the competition, teams, match date, and viewing country—for example, “Where can I watch [competition or teams] in [country]?” Use that search to locate the organizer’s official directory, then verify the fixture directly with the named broadcaster. Without the match and country, it is not possible to identify one current service or state its price and access conditions reliably.
