The most direct planned route for Soul Fragments in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is to reach Fellhollow, enter a Spectral Door while in spectral form, and mine the Soul Stones inside. An unofficial guide updated September 22, 2026 estimates roughly 100 fragments per run, but that is not a verified or guaranteed 1.0 yield. If you would rather fight for fragments, Green Dragons and Zogres are alternatives; an undead circuit can also supply fragments alongside other materials.

How to farm Soul Fragments through a Spectral Door

  1. Unlock Fellhollow. The region map guide lists completing Dragon Slayer and starting Withering Heights as the requirements to enter. It identifies Fellhollow as power level 5 and includes subareas such as Bleakfields Valley, Dragon’s Run, Emberwood, Witchwillow Range, Hope’s Fall, Lake of Lost Souls, and Silverthorn Keep. See the Fellhollow region and subarea guide.
  2. Prepare near the Spectral Door. The route guide says you cannot pass through in normal form. Stand in the nearby red corruption until spectral form activates, then enter. Leave room in your plans for recovery after the run. The guide does not provide a guaranteed duration or recovery quantity. Read the Spectral Door route guide.
  3. Mine the Soul Stones. The stones in the chamber are the main target. The September 22, 2026 guide estimates roughly 100 Soul Fragments per run; it does not document an in-game test or establish that amount as a guaranteed haul.
  4. Extend the trip only if useful. The same route guide suggests nearby chest collection and Green Dragon hunts as possible additions. Weigh those detours against travel and recovery time rather than treating them as required parts of the mining route.

How the farming routes compare

Route Fragment yield in the cited source Progression or preparation Useful when
Spectral Door and Soul Stones Roughly 100 per run, estimated by NerdsChalk Staff on September 22, 2026; not a verified or guaranteed 1.0 yield. Reach Fellhollow; activate spectral form in nearby red corruption to pass the door. You want a planned mining run centered on Soul Fragments.
Green Dragon 40–50 listed as guaranteed in Dragonwilds Codex data marked version 0.12.1, updated August 31, 2026; post-launch 1.0 rates are not confirmed. Requires a combat-focused detour and the ability to handle the target; the cited source does not establish a universal equipment threshold. You prefer combat or want to add a dragon hunt to another trip.
Zogre 20 listed as guaranteed in Dragonwilds Codex data marked version 0.12.1, updated August 31, 2026; post-launch 1.0 rates are not confirmed. Combat route; the cited source does not establish a universal equipment threshold. You are already routing around Zogres or want a combat alternative.
Undead circuit Varies by enemy. The July 25, 2026 route guide discusses undead targets but does not give a single route-wide yield. Scout current spawns and choose targets based on the materials you need. You want fragments while gathering other drops for recipes, quests, or upgrades.

The table’s combat figures come from an unofficial database whose drop table is explicitly marked “Verified for 0.12.1.” Since version 1.0 launched September 15, 2026, treat those numbers as version-qualified reference data, not confirmed current rates. The Soul Fragment database entry also lists one fragment per Zombie and separate entries for Skeletal Archers, skeletons, and Rotsworn; some of those enemies have additional 3–5 fragment entries at a 25/100 rate in that older table.

When to choose Green Dragons, Zogres, or undead

Green Dragons and Zogres

The Codex’s older version 0.12.1 table makes Green Dragons and Zogres the clearest named combat options by listed fragments per target: 40–50 and 20, respectively. Because those rates predate 1.0, use them to compare the historical listings, not to predict an exact current haul. The sources do not establish that either is faster overall than mining; travel, combat time, and recovery all affect fragments per trip.

Undead routes

The Fellhollow route guide covers zombies, skeletons, Rotsworn, Ghost Wolves, Lost Souls, Razlem, and Zogre across the region. It mentions zombies around Lake of Lost Souls and successive zombie spawns in Bleakfields Valley, but warns that enemy positions and balance can change during Early Access. Treat it as a route-planning overview, not an exact live map or evidence of fixed respawn timing. See the Fellhollow undead route overview.

Where Soul Fragments are used

Dragonwilds Codex lists the Shadow Sword and Spectral Silver Thread among Soul Fragment uses. A separate guide to the Seeking Salvation quest describes spending fragments at Death’s Exchange and discusses a purchase of a crystal for 25 Soul Fragments. That quest guide notes disagreement among sources about the cracked wall and statue landmarks, so those landmarks should not be treated as settled directions. See the Seeking Salvation quest guide.
