There is no verified, universally fastest armor-sphere farm for every stage of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The practical approach is to complete optional subquests during hunts you already need to do, then choose quests whose listed rewards match the sphere tier you need. A Game8 reward listing points to two King Armor Spheres for the Master Rank 6 urgent quest “The Sun Will Rise Again,” but check the quest’s current reward details in your game before relying on that quantity.
What armor spheres do
Armor spheres add upgrade points to armor. As Capcom’s Sunbreak manual puts it, “Use armor spheres to add the upgrade points required to level a piece up.” Upgrading raises a piece’s defense without changing its appearance. Sphere types provide different amounts of upgrade points, and armor-level caps vary by piece and rise as progression unlocks them.
That means the useful sphere tier depends on what you are upgrading and how far you have progressed. Spending a higher-value sphere on a piece that needs only a small amount to reach its current cap may be less useful than saving it for a later upgrade; check the displayed points and cost before confirming. Spheres and money are consumed when you upgrade armor, as Capcom Support explains for Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation 4. That support guidance covers the base game, while the Sunbreak manual is the more directly relevant source for expansion mechanics.
Which farming options are supported by available evidence?
| Option | Progression and sphere tier | What is known | What is not established |
|---|---|---|---|
| Complete optional subquests alongside hunts | Use the subquests available at your current stage; the specific sphere tier and quantity depend on the listed reward. | Players report taking optional subquests while hunting, so the objectives can progress together. | A guaranteed sphere reward, quantity, or yield per minute is not established by those reports. |
| Check quest reward listings for the tier you need | Progression-dependent; prioritize a listing that names the sphere tier you are after. | A Game8 search result lists two King Armor Spheres for the Master Rank 6 urgent quest “The Sun Will Rise Again.” | The listing is a secondary lead, not a complete or independently verified reward comparison. Check the current in-game quest details. |
| Gather rock lizards during a quest | Player reports discuss Heavy and King Armor Spheres; they do not establish a full progression guide. | Some players recommend gathering rock lizards, with one report mentioning level-4 Dango Summoner and lizards in the Volcano area. | The exact reward, consistency, time cost, and efficiency versus quest rewards are not established. |
These are options to investigate, not a measured ranking. The available evidence does not compare current reward quantities and completion times closely enough to identify a fastest route. Anomaly Quest material rewards are a separate matter: Capcom’s Anomaly Quest manual describes afflicted-material rewards from part breaks and carving; it does not establish those materials as armor-sphere rewards.

- Journey to the West - In addition to the plethora of new hunts to complete, the immersive story will task Kamura’s valiant hunters with researching the secrets behind the puzzling anomalies plaguing the distant Kingdom. This pursuit will take players on a journey across the sea to a new base of operations called Elgado Outpost, where they will investigate powerful creatures known as the Three Lords, each inspired by staples of Western horror.
- New and Returning Monsters - The game will introduce Malzeno, a menacing new flagship monster, as well as other new monsters like the lupine Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, the towering Garangolm, and new subspecies such as Blood Orange Bishaten. Hunters will also encounter numerous fan-favorite and returning species from previous Monster Hunter games including the voltaic Astalos.
- Combat Evolved - The “Wirebug” mechanic that allows for unparalleled freedom of movement and mobility returns! Hunters using the new facilities at Elgado Outpost will also be able to master all-new combat options and Wirebug techniques for all weapon types. More information on these new abilities will be shared in the future.
- New Locales - Featuring all-new maps with no loading times such as the newly revealed Citadel locale, the continuous gameplay ensures that players will remain on their quests as soon as the hunt begins, without transitions between areas.
- Hunting Options - Play solo, or join up to three other hunters in online co-op play on Nintendo Switch or PC. The Nintendo Switch system also allows for hunting anywhere, anytime and with anyone via a local connection!
A practical farming routine
- Choose the sphere tier you need. Check the armor piece’s upgrade screen for its current level, cap, and required points. Sphere types differ in point value, so target a tier that fits the upgrade you intend to make.
- Review available quest rewards. Read the current reward descriptions in-game and look for the relevant sphere tier. Quest rewards are progression-dependent; do not assume a listing for one rank applies to another.
- Pair optional subquests with a useful hunt. Select objectives you can complete while pursuing a hunt or other progression goal, rather than repeating side tasks in isolation. This is a practical player-reported approach, not a guaranteed sphere payout.
- Consider lizard gathering only if it fits your route. Players report gathering rock lizards during quests, including in the Volcano area. Treat this as an opportunistic supplement, not a proven replacement for quest rewards or a confirmed high-efficiency method.
- Verify rewards and adjust. After a run, check what you actually received and whether the activity advanced your intended objective. If the reward listing does not name your target tier, switch to a quest that does.
How to interpret the MR6 King Armor Sphere lead
Game8’s search result identifies “The Sun Will Rise Again,” an MR6 urgent quest, and lists two King Armor Spheres as a reward. That makes it a specific lead for players who have reached that progression point and need King Armor Spheres. The full guide was not available to verify the listing or its conditions, so treat the quantity as something to confirm in-game rather than a guaranteed payout or a repeatable farming recommendation.
Likewise, search results for Heavy and True Armor Sphere guides indicate that quest reward tables exist, but the available details do not support a complete tier-by-tier route or yield comparison. Check the reward information shown for your own available quests instead of assuming one named quest is best for every sphere type.

What not to assume
- There is one fastest farm for everyone. No comparable, current yield-per-minute evidence establishes a universal winner or a best option for each progression stage.
- Every optional subquest guarantees spheres. Player reports support doing optional objectives alongside hunts, but do not establish a guaranteed sphere reward or amount.
- Anomaly materials are armor spheres. Capcom’s Anomaly Quest description concerns afflicted materials; it is not evidence of armor-sphere drops.
- Old event-quest announcements show current availability. Capcom’s 2022 news recap said a new event quest would debut weekly at that time. That historical announcement does not establish today’s event schedule or a current sphere farm.
