A touchdown counts as real fantasy production, but one score alone is not evidence that Pat Freiermuth’s value has changed for the long term. The Pittsburgh Steelers list him with 14 receptions, 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns through four games in 2026. To judge what that means for your lineup, consider the score alongside his catches, yardage, scoring rules and the tight ends available to you.

What Freiermuth’s recent numbers show

The Steelers’ official player statistics list Freiermuth at 14 receptions, 125 yards and two touchdowns in four games in 2026. Those totals describe production so far; they do not, by themselves, establish a future scoring pace.

His 2026 game log on NFL.com helps put the touchdowns in context:

2026 week Receptions Receiving yards Touchdowns
Week 1 5 46 1
Week 3 2 30 0
Week 4 3 17 1

In Week 4, the touchdown came alongside 17 receiving yards. It added scoring value, but the modest yardage line is a reason to assess the game’s catches and yards separately rather than treating the score as proof of a larger role.

His past full seasons also show that production can vary. NFL.com’s season statistics list 65 catches, 653 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024, compared with 41 catches, 486 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. Those totals are context, not a forecast for the rest of 2026.

Does one touchdown change whether you should start him?

Not on its own. The touchdown should count in your evaluation, but a start/sit decision depends on your league’s scoring rules and the alternatives on your roster. The available official statistics do not determine a personalized fantasy-point total or settle a lineup choice without that context.

  • Check the same-game production: Note receptions and receiving yards alongside the score.
  • Look at a wider window: Compare recent games with his season totals to see whether catches and yardage are also changing. Four games are a short sample.
  • Apply your league’s scoring: Reception scoring and touchdown values differ by format. Do not compare raw fantasy points unless the scoring assumptions match your league.
  • Compare your actual options: Consider the tight ends available, lineup rules, matchup and how much risk you are willing to take. The statistics alone cannot identify the best choice for every roster.

How to compare him with another tight end

Use the same timeframe and scoring format for both players. Compare receptions and, where you have them, targets or other opportunity measures; receiving yards; touchdown frequency; and recent production against season-long totals. Then weigh those numbers against the choices on your roster. The official figures cited here establish Freiermuth’s receptions, yardage and touchdowns, but they do not provide a consistent comparison with another tight end or your league’s alternatives.

What the statistics do—and do not—establish

Through four 2026 games, the Steelers’ displayed totals support saying Freiermuth has scored twice. They do not establish that he will keep scoring at that pace, that his role has permanently changed, or that he should be started in every league. His draft history is not a substitute for current production: the Steelers’ 2025 media guide identifies him as a second-round pick, 55th overall, in the 2021 NFL Draft.
