There is no single cloud GPU rental price: the total depends on the GPU and VM configuration, region, runtime, storage, data transfer, and pricing plan. To estimate your cost, choose a workload-matched configuration, calculate its expected billable runtime, add the non-GPU services it uses, and compare providers using identical assumptions.
What goes into a cloud GPU estimate?
A useful planning equation is:
Estimated total = GPU/VM compute for expected runtime + storage + data transfer + other configured services.
This is a checklist, not a universal billing formula. Providers may bill different units or apply different rules to a specific configuration, so verify the calculator and pricing terms for the VM you select.

How to estimate your workload
- Define the job. Record the GPU model and count, CPU and memory needs, region, expected runtime, and whether the workload can tolerate interruptions. AWS recommends accounting for operating system, memory, I/O, storage, and expected server runtime when configuring an estimate. AWS EC2 estimate documentation
- Select a comparable VM or instance. Check that the full configuration meets the workload’s needs, not just that the GPU model matches. GPU charges may be added to machine charges: Google Cloud says, “Each GPU adds to the cost of your instance in addition to the cost of the machine type.” Google Cloud GPU pricing
- Estimate billable runtime. Multiply the applicable compute rate by expected billable hours, using the provider’s billing rules. AWS offers per-second billing and On-Demand, Spot, and Savings Plans options; its calculator also has an expected-utilization input for On-Demand estimates. Check the terms for the specific configuration before relying on a quote. AWS EC2 pricing
- Add other services the job needs. Include disks, images, data transfer, and other configured services. AWS’s estimate tool includes EBS and data-transfer inputs. Google’s GPU pricing page excludes disk, images, networking, and VM instance pricing from its GPU-only prices. Google Cloud GPU pricing
- Run comparable estimates. Use the same region, GPU type and count, runtime, storage and network assumptions, and pricing-plan assumptions for each provider. Save the assumptions and the date you checked the estimate; published prices and discount availability can change.
Choose a pricing plan that fits the job
A lower rate is not automatically a lower-cost choice if it changes availability, requires a commitment, or increases the chance of paying for restarted work.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
- On-Demand or pay-as-you-go: A flexible baseline for jobs without a credible long-term usage forecast. AWS’s calculator offers payment options and expected utilization for On-Demand estimates; Azure lists pay-as-you-go among its choices. Azure Pricing Calculator documentation
- Spot or interruptible capacity: Consider it when the workload can pause, restart, or tolerate capacity loss. Google says Spot prices are dynamic, may change up to once every 30 days, and are 60–91% below corresponding On-Demand prices for most machine types and GPUs. That is a provider-stated range, not a guaranteed discount for a particular GPU, region, or job. Google Cloud GPU pricing
- Reservations and other commitments: These may change rates but come with commitment or capacity conditions. AWS provides Reserved Instance options in its calculator and offers Savings Plans; Google describes resource-based GPU commitments with attached reservations; Azure lists one- or three-year reservations and savings plans. Compare the terms with flexible pricing only when your expected duration and utilization are credible. AWS EC2 pricing Google Cloud GPU pricing Azure Pricing Calculator documentation
Compare total costs, not GPU-only rates
A GPU line item may not include the machine’s CPU and memory, attached storage, or network charges. For example, Google’s GPU pricing page excludes VM instance, disk, and networking rates, while AWS and Azure calculators let you configure additional estimate inputs. An advertised GPU rate alone is therefore not a like-for-like total.
When you have actual provider or instance options to compare, put them side by side using these factors:

- Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
- GPU model, count, memory, and fit for the workload
- Region and capacity availability
- Total estimate under the same runtime, storage, and network assumptions
- Flexible, interruptible, or commitment pricing and its conditions
- Whether interruption would force a restart or otherwise add operational cost
There is no meaningful universal monthly figure or universally cheapest provider without a defined workload, region, configuration, and estimate date. Use each provider’s calculator to produce a workload-specific quote.
