To eat a Birthday Cake slice in Fortnite, approach an individual slice and use the on-screen Consume prompt. September 2026 guides reported that the Celebration Quest asked players to eat four slices, but the event was reported to end on October 1, 2026. As of October 4, check the in-game Quests tab first: the quest may no longer be available.

Check whether the Celebration Quest is still active

Open the in-game Quests tab and look for the Birthday or Celebration objective. Confirm that it is available and, if shown, that its progress counter calls for four slices. The reported event end date has passed, so older route instructions may no longer apply.

How to eat a Birthday Cake slice

  1. Choose Fortnite OG. September 2026 guides recommended this mode because Birthday Cake spawns in Battle Royale were reportedly unreliable during the event. This is a reported workaround, not a guarantee.
  2. Land at a Named Location with a reported cake spawn. Junk Junction in Fortnite OG was one suggested option. Available evidence does not establish which location has the best spawn rate.
  3. Find the large decorative cake and look around it for individual slices.
  4. Approach a slice and use the on-screen Consume prompt. The reported interaction consumes the slice where it is found rather than adding it to inventory.
  5. Check the quest tracker. If the objective remains active, repeat until its counter reaches four.

What to expect from spawns and progress

Do not count on finishing in one landing. The number of slices available, other players, and current spawn behavior can affect whether you find enough. September 2026 guides reported Battle Royale spawn problems during the event; follow the in-game tracker and what you actually see in a match rather than assuming an older location tip still works.

What Epic’s past birthday announcements establish

Epic’s 2024 birthday announcement said a cake slice could instantly restore some Health and Shield and that Birthday Quests were available only until October 1, 2024. Epic’s 2023 announcement likewise described birthday cake as an Island item that could be consumed to recover Health and Shield, with quests limited to the event period. Those past announcements support the general mechanic and the temporary nature of birthday content; they do not verify the 2026 four-slice objective, locations, reported bug, reward, or end date.

The four-slice requirement, Junk Junction suggestion, Battle Royale spawn issue, and October 1, 2026 end date come from September 2026 gaming guides, not an official Epic confirmation located for that event. Current quest availability and reward details should not be inferred from those reports.
