Earn Ultimate Team Coins by playing eligible matches, claiming mode and Objective rewards, and selling tradeable Items at fair market prices. Build SBC fodder from player Items and packs you earn, but check your Club, SBC Storage, and the challenge requirements before spending Coins or submitting anything. FC 27 rewards and SBCs change over time, and EA does not publish a guaranteed Coins-per-hour or fodder rate.
What Coins and SBC fodder mean
Coins are Ultimate Team’s spendable currency. Fodder is a common player term for player Items you are prepared to use in a Squad Building Challenge (SBC), rather than keep in your squad or sell. An Item is not automatically tradeable, eligible for a particular SBC, or expendable just because it is called fodder.
Earn Coins through legitimate play and sales
EA Help says: “You can earn Coins in FC Ultimate Team™ by playing matches or selling Items on the Transfer Market, but you can’t purchase Coins.” The guidance is in EA’s How to use Ultimate Team Coins and EA SPORTS FC Points safely.

In FC 27, EA says match Coins are increasing in Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles, and that a higher proportion of rewards across Objectives and modes will be tradeable. EA’s stated comparison is roughly 500 to 600 FUT Coins typically earned from a match in EA SPORTS FC 26; that is an FC 26 baseline, not a promised FC 27 payout. FC 27’s update describes the changes comparatively and does not establish a universal amount per match.

EA also says eligible FC 27 matches can award between 15 and 100 Season Points, depending on result and mode, up to 850 Season Points per day. Season Points are not Coins. Complete current Objectives
FC 27 Foundation Objectives introduce Ultimate Team activities and can grant Player Items, Packs, and Coins. Review the current Objectives and their conditions in-game; rewards and availability can change, so do not assume a particular Objective or payout will remain active.

Choose a mode that fits your time and comfort
Squad Battles is played against AI opponents and awards weekly Rank rewards. The Rank is competitive: your position can shift as other players earn Battle Points. After you have played the weekly competition matches, additional Squad Battles no longer add to that week’s Battle Points score, though they can still earn Coins and Objective progress. Do not keep playing solely on the assumption that extra matches will raise your weekly Rank.
Rivals and Squad Battles can also help you earn Champions Qualification Points. Champions rewards may include Coins, Qualification Points, and Tokens, with the actual reward depending on event progress and performance. EA does not provide a common Coins-per-hour comparison for these routes. Pick based on the mode you can play and the rewards you value rather than relying on an unverified efficiency ranking.
Sell only Items you can trade and do not need
Check an Item’s tradeability before listing it. If it is tradeable and has no use for your squad or plans, you can list it for a fair market price. Prices move with demand, and EA sets minimum and maximum listing prices. Do not use inflated or artificially low listings to move Coins between accounts.

Build SBC fodder from your Club and rewards
- Check the SBC requirements and reward. Read the squad conditions, reward details, and expiry in-game before deciding whether the challenge is worthwhile for you.
- Inspect your Club and SBC Storage. Look for player Items you already own that meet the conditions. SBC Storage holds duplicate untradeable player Items.
- Use earned rewards where they fit. Player Items from packs and mode or Objective rewards can become fodder if they meet the challenge requirements and you are willing to commit them.
- Buy only what you still need. Compare the remaining requirements with your available Coins and the reward before purchasing players from the market.
- Review the submission before confirming. Submitted Items are permanently removed from your Club. Make sure you are not giving up a player you would rather keep, sell, or use in another challenge.
EA’s SBC guidance explains checking challenge requirements, rewards, and submitted Items in its Squad Building Challenges help page. FC 27’s launch materials also describe Streamlined SBCs, which let eligible Items contribute toward a target score across multiple submissions. The Items are still committed; check the specific challenge terms and reward before contributing them.

Protect your Coins and Club
Do not buy Coins from third-party sellers, send Coins to another player, or manipulate Item prices to transfer value. EA identifies these as rule violations and warns that penalties can include Coin removal, leaderboard removal, or Club deletion. Earning through play and fair-price sales is different from using listings or other accounts to funnel currency.

How to decide whether an SBC is worth doing
- Requirements: Can you meet them with Items already in your Club or SBC Storage?
- Reward: Is the reward useful to you compared with the Items and Coins you would give up?
- Expiry: How much time remains, and can you complete it without rushed purchases?
- Item value: Would any submitted player be more useful in your squad, or better sold if tradeable?
- Uncertainty: Do not assume an SBC has a fixed market value or that future packs will return the same fodder. Check current prices and the in-game challenge details.
