You can download songs, playlists, and podcasts in the YouTube Music app on your Pixel Watch for offline listening. Install the app, sign in, choose content, and tap its download icon. You can also enable Smart Downloads to refresh recommended music automatically.
Download music manually to your Pixel Watch

On the watch, open the Google Play Store and install YouTube Music if it is not already installed.

Open YouTube Music on the watch and sign in to the account you want to use.

Tap the download icon and wait for the download to finish. The content is saved directly to the watch for offline listening, so your phone does not need to be with you when you play it. Google’s Wear OS help
Watch storage determines how much you can save. Google does not specify a universal number of songs because available capacity depends on the watch’s storage and what else is stored on it.

Set up automatic Smart Downloads
Smart Downloads refresh music recommendations based on your listening history. To configure them, sign in to your YouTube Music account in the Google Pixel Watch phone app, open YouTube Music on the watch, then go to Settings > Downloads and choose how many songs to update and download. Google says Smart Downloads update overnight when the watch has more than 40% battery and is connected to Wi-Fi or LTE. Depending on your download settings, updates may also use unrestricted mobile data. Reconnect the watch to the internet at least once every 30 days to maintain downloaded music.

Listen without your phone or an internet connection
Once music has finished downloading to the watch, you can play it offline without your phone nearby. For audio, pair Bluetooth headphones or another Bluetooth audio accessory with the watch; Google describes Bluetooth accessories as the way to listen to watch audio. Wear OS by Google Help
Downloaded playback is different from streaming. A Wi-Fi Pixel Watch can download and save songs, and can stream when the phone is nearby or the watch is connected to Wi-Fi. An LTE model can stream without a nearby phone when cellular service is available. LTE streaming requires a compatible carrier plan and may incur data charges. Google’s Pixel Watch instructions

Do you need YouTube Music Premium?
Google says some YouTube Music features on Pixel Watch require a paid subscription, but its instructions do not establish that every manual download requires Premium. Check the subscription prompt shown in your app for your account and country. Google’s cited help page says free, non-Premium streaming on Pixel Watch is limited to Canada and the United States; availability can change.

Both options use the watch’s available storage. If the library you want is larger than the space available, remove downloads you no longer need or save a smaller selection; Google does not publish a fixed song-capacity figure.
