Install the current Xbox Accessories app from Microsoft Store—not the similarly named Xbox, Xbox Game Bar, or Xbox Console Companion apps. Microsoft lists Xbox Accessories as a free Windows download under Store listing ID 9NBLGGH30XJ3.
The normal installation route is Start > Microsoft Store, followed by a search for Xbox Accessories. If the app or its download button is missing, the Store may be outdated, the PC may need a restart or Windows update, or the device may be incompatible.
Install Xbox Accessories on Windows 11
- Open Start and select Microsoft Store.
- In the Store search box, type Xbox Accessories.
- Open the result with the exact name Xbox Accessories. Do not select Xbox, Xbox Game Bar, or Xbox Console Companion.
- Select the app’s Download icon or install control.
- Wait for the installation to finish, then select Open. You can also launch it later from Start.
The official web listing is apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nblggh30xj3. It requires JavaScript and is intended to direct you to the Microsoft Store experience rather than provide a separate Xbox.com installer.

- Select Start.
- Type Microsoft Store, then open the Store app.
- Search for Xbox Accessories.
- Open the matching result and select its download or install control.
- After installation, select Launch or open the app from the Start menu.
If your Windows 10 version is below build 15063, update Windows before expecting Microsoft Store to work normally.

Make Microsoft Store update Xbox Accessories automatically
Microsoft Store app updates are automatic by default, but the setting can be disabled. To check it, open Start > Microsoft Store > Profile (your account photo) > Store Settings. Turn App updates on.
Fix Xbox Accessories when it will not install
1. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
wsreset.exeexactly. - Select OK.
A blank Command Prompt window should appear. Microsoft says it normally closes after about 10 seconds, and Microsoft Store opens automatically. Search for Xbox Accessories again after the Store returns.
2. Update Windows and restart
An update can be installed but still require a restart before Store apps become available. Apply pending updates using the Windows 10 or Windows 11 paths above, restart the computer, and retry the installation.

3. Update Microsoft Store
On Windows 11, use Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates. On Windows 10, use See more (…) > Downloads and updates > Get updates. This can repair an old Store client that cannot display or install the current app.
4. Check the account and device restrictions
The app may be unavailable in search or lack an install button if it is not offered in your country or region, is hidden by Microsoft family settings, or the PC is not authorized for Store apps. It may also be incompatible with the device. Microsoft Store can hide or block the download control when it determines that an app is incompatible, so a missing button does not automatically mean Xbox Accessories has been discontinued.
On a work or school PC, an administrator may have disabled Microsoft Store. If the Store itself is missing on a managed computer, contact the organization’s IT administrator rather than trying to download an unofficial installer.

Repair, reset, or reinstall Xbox Accessories on Windows 11
If the app installed but crashes or refuses to open:
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Xbox Accessories.
- Select the app’s menu, then choose Advanced options.
- Select Repair and test the app.
- If the problem remains, return to the same screen and select Reset.
Resetting can remove the app’s local data. If repair and reset do not help, use the same Installed apps page to select Uninstall, follow the prompts, and reinstall it from Microsoft Store > Library.
Do not use an unofficial Xbox Accessories installer
The verified current distribution channel is Microsoft Store. Microsoft’s official listing is hosted at apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nblggh30xj3; there is no need to download a standalone installer from Xbox.com or a third-party software site. Searching for the exact app name in Microsoft Store also reduces the chance of installing one of the unrelated Xbox applications.

FAQ
Is Xbox Accessories free on Windows 10 and Windows 11?
Yes. Microsoft’s current Store listing identifies Xbox Accessories as a free download and install on Windows.
Why can’t I find Xbox Accessories in Microsoft Store?
Check that you searched for the exact name, are signed in with the correct Microsoft account, and have restarted after installing Windows updates. Microsoft also lists region availability, family settings, device incompatibility, Store authorization, and the app being unavailable in the Store as possible causes.
Why is there no Download button for Xbox Accessories?
Microsoft Store may hide or block the download control when it determines that the app is incompatible with the device. A missing control can also result from account, region, family-setting, or organizational restrictions.

Use Microsoft Store to search for the exact app name Xbox Accessories and select its Download control. If installation fails, update Windows, update the Store, restart the PC, and run wsreset.exe. If the app is still absent or has no install button, check Microsoft-account, region, family, administrator, and compatibility restrictions.
